I'm planning on doing one for my wedding in June.  I got some big round containers from IKEA, incluing a cupcake holder.  Some of the really nice crystal containers I'm borrowing from my sisters and mom.  I just started getting some really nice ones like these from Joanns with my weekly 40% coupon.

I started collecting candy now especially with all the holidays.  After valentine's day I got a bags of green M&Ms for $2 each and I got enough for one big cyclinder.  I also got purple Dove hearts for $2 and those I only got 5 bags but have enough to fill one of the containers.  I'm waiting for after easter to get some lighter green and purple.  I will be doing a mix of chocholate and candy plus cookies and cupcakes.  Depending on how much space I have left on the table.  I would like to add macarroons.  For the rest of the candy i'll be going to Costco, Smart & FInal, Winco, and I'll probably have to buy some purple colored candy online just becuase I can't find a lot of purple candy.

I will be adding some ribbon and a cut out with the name of the candy.  I've seen some really cute ideas like putting a picture of you guys on each container, others where they have really cute ribbon.

I hope it's a hit but i figured it would be easier and cheaper than having a favor they probably will never use again.

I had a candy buffet because I thought it would save money on favors but it ended up being about the same cost. Guests really liked though so that was great. I had a mix of different jars which I got at places like Michaels and Thai Pan Trading (they had the best prices). The candy I ordered online (I had personalized candy mixed in) and bought from Costco. The scoops were from Michaels. I also had stickers made with our names and wedding date on it to add to the bags I bought at Michaels.

what containers areyou using/did you use for the guests to put the candy in?
I got gold chinese boxes and tied pink ribbon on the top and had stickers with our names made for them (from etsy).

where did you buy your supplies?
I collected jars from Cracker Jack (closed), Marshalls and Home Goods. I found out at the end that Home Goods had a large selection for pretty cheap.

I got all of my candy at Candy Crate, where MC works and since I bought a lot, they were nice enough to give a wholesale discount. If you go in the store, there is also a discount rather than just the website.

how much did you spend on it?
On the Candy I spent around $240 and I had like 8-10 jars, which varied in price. The cheapest jars were probably $10 and the most expensive were $40.

did you put any special touches on it?
I used wooden boxes to elevate the jars and we scattered crystals around the table. I bought nice frames and made a sign that said "La Dolce Vita" (The Sweet Life) and made another one that said "Love Sweet Love"

We also did all pink candy-- rock candy, gumballs, sour licorice, taffy, etc.

    was it a hit?
Everyone loved it and said they were eating pink candy for quite a while.

I would talk to MC though.. she's the candy buffet expert now! ;)

Who is your vendor Desi? If I did it through my florist, it would have been $11 pp (multiplied by 200+).. It would have made it a lot more simple if I could have done that.

We're actually going to be selling premade buffets- 5 jars, with a selection of candy at one price. Don't have pricing yet but I will let you know when it gets added.

what containers areyou using/did you use for the guests to put the candy in?

I bought personalized bags (like $25 for 100) on foryourparty.com

where did you buy your supplies?
    Scoops I bought at Micheal's $5 for 2
Jars- some at micheals and some at Target, the rest were supplied by my friend who sells party light.
    Candy- from my work-candycrate.com

how much did you spend on it?
i had about 10-15...maybe more jars
I probably spent about $100-$150 total.

did you put any special touches on it?
We had the personalized bags, and our provided an S shaped table. We put lights under the table cloth and like JoJo used boxes to lift certain jars.

    was it a hit?
It was a HUGE hit! Everyone loved it! :)

The lights weren't dimmed yet so you cant really see that there were lights under the table cloth...
