My grandmother is not coming to the wedding It's really dissapointing. She told my mom the drive (5 hours) is too much for her since she fractured her hip in april. She has not yet called to tell me. She also never called/sent a card or anything for my shower. I always thought my grandmother would be there to see me get married!

I'm sorry... Is there a way she could fly? You still have 2 months- maybe if you and your mom talk to her you can figure out a way to make it happen.

I'm sorry to hear that. My aunt who is like my second mother may not be able to come because she is having major surgery in january. I understand that she can not come and I don't want her to risk her health but I am so sad that she may not be able to make it

I'm sorry to hear that Katie. My grandmother is in Plymouth, MA and she doesn't fly at all, so she was unable to come. I hope this doesn't sound bad, but on wedding day there will be so many people there, you will barely notice. We had some people unable to come that I was really upset about before the wedding, but we didn't even get to spend much time with the people that did come. Maybe you can make a plan to go see her sometime after the wedding to tell her all about it and show her pictures.

Thanks guys. Flying isnt an option because its the sitting that she cant do. I like the idea of reserving her a seat though. I know things will be wonderful at the wedding, I think this was just my first letdown.

I'm a little late on this but I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I can imagine how upsetting it must be. I lost all my grandparents by the time I was 9...but I have a Great Aunt (my granmother's sister) who is like a grandmother to me. She's coming from Miami so I know it's a long trip for her...but my cousins (who she lives with) promiseed me that they would all be there. With having no grandparents OR my dad still alive to be at my wedding I think I will emotionally breakdown if she doesn't attend. (((HUGS)))
