bachelorette party

We are interested in having a bachelorette party involving a wine tasting. We have tried researching the wineries in Geneva, Ohio but are coming up pretty empty on certain details reguarding options of wine tours/tasting. Anyone have any experience or suggestions on finding out good information? Not an at home wine tasting, we are looking to go somewhere.

    So here are some suggestions:

If you want to be in the Geneva area, I reccomend Ferrante's. They are a great restaurant with good wine. I had my graduation dinner there and they can eaily accomodate private parties.

If you want to be in the Cleveland the Rocky River wine bar is awesome. Other possible places are D'Vine downtown, Market Avenue Wine Bar in Ohio City or La Cave on Coventry.

    Good luck!

We are looking for a so called "wine crawl" to be able to go to a couple different wineries in one afternoon/evening for tastings.

We go up to the wineries in Harpersfield all the time.  What time of year are you looking at going?  Most of the smaller ones shut down or reduce their hours in the winter.  Only the bigger ones like Ferrante and Debonne stay open full time. I am not a big fan of Ferrante's wine, but they are the only one up there that has a full dinner menu so we usually hit up several other wineries and then end up there for dinner and then go back to some of the other wineries.

The ones we love up there are South River (it is an old church and is beautiful) and Laurello.  You can easily get to all of then in about 10 minutes.  They are frequently bachlorette parties that rent limo buses and go winery hopping.

www.ohiowines.org has most of the information of the bigger wineries.  If you want info on the other wineries, let me know. We have been to almost all of them.  We have even gone into Geneva, which I think it a bit more touristy but it is closer to some hotels.

There is also Sarah's Vineyard Winery in Cuyahoga Falls (across the street from Blossom), Viking Vineyards in Kent and Maize Valley Winery in Hartville.

And, John Christ winery on the west side... Avon Lake area? Wolf Creek Winery in the Akron area.

Jilbert Winery in Valley City - they are closed now, but I believe open in March.
