I guess I should get around to doing my vendor reviews. I'll eventually put these in my bio so you can look back at them if you're interested. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Venue: Willow Pond Plantation -- C
The venue was absolutely gorgeous. So many people commented on it. The customer service was horrible though. Kimberly (the site coordinator) was not very flexible and didn't treat us like the customer. They nickle and dime you for almost everything.
Photography: Micha Everett Photography -- A
Loved our photography. She did a fantastic job and made us feel so comfortable during pictures. She spent the entire day with us and made sure to take pictures that I asked for. She also brought her husband as a second photographer, who helped captures parts that she didn't capture. My only complaint is that I didn't receive as many pictures as I would have liked, but I did receive what was outlined in the contract (actually I think I might have received more). They are quality pictures though, so I would rather have less pictures and have fantastic quality than have more pictures and mediocre quality.
Month of Coordinators: A Savvy Affair -- A
They were there to help us throughout the entire month leading up to the wedding. They attended vendor meetings with me as well as helped with all the final preparations that were needed for the wedding (timeline, seating chart, decorating ideas, etc.). They set up the entire venue the morning of the wedding and also coordinated the entire day.
Caterer: Cabell's American Bar and Grill -- A
The food was delicious and the set-up was amazing. They had very upscale chafing dishes and we had a chef managed carving station. They also had someone there to help fill the chafing dishes if they got low and make sure all our guests had everything they needed.
DJ: Steve Christian -- C
He did a great job on the ceremony and made sure he had all the songs that I requested. He set up for the reception during the cocktail hour and did all the announcements throughout the night. Pronounced all the names correctly too! He uses CDs though and throughout the night a few of the songs skipped (including our first dance). I was not happy about this at all. He ended up giving me a partial refund in the end because of my unhappiness.
Florist: Posh Stems -- B+
Loved our bouquets. They were definitely my favorite details of the entire day. I wasn't a fan of the cake topper at all. I really wanted green hydrangeas, but they ended up putting roses on the top. That was probably my fault that I wasn't specific enough when I told them what I wanted.
Cake: The Cake Shop -- A-
The only reason they did not receive an A+ is because of their customer service. The cake was gorgeous and tasted delicious! Their customer service was lacking though. The receptionists didn't really know what they were talking about and we almost always got different answers. On the day of the wedding, they forgot to give my FI the cake stand that we had rented and I ended up having to go and pick it up after my hair appointment. I was over an hour late getting to the venue and that kept me from getting some of the group pictures I wanted.
Alterations: Hayley Lauren Couture -- B
In the end, my dress turned out absolutely fabulous and she was the best price in town. It took about 4 fittings to get it perfect though. Also, the bottom of my dress was hemmed a little too long so I kept tripping on it throughout the night. My bustle also kept dragging on the ground as well.
I think that's everyone. Hopefully I didn't forget anyone.
