I Do I Do Bridal

Ok, I ordered my dress in October and was told it would be in, in Jan/Feb (my wedding is 5/29).  They told me to call back in 2 weeks after I bought the dress and they'd have a better idea on the date.  When I called back, they said....call back in January and we'll have a date for you.  (BTW I paid in full for my dress)

So, I called in Jan.  They said call back in Feb.  I called last week and was told we have to call the manufacturer and see where it's at...we'll call you back.  Surprise, surprise, they never called.  So I called them and again was told we'll call you back and I have not heard from them.

Am I crazy or would you be irritated/nervous as well? Has anyone else had a similar experience with them?

I am not happy at all.

That is pretty irritating because you've made several attempts to ask them to check on the dress & they haven't. My friend purchased her dress at I Do! I Do! & said once the check cleared, they treated her like crap & were very unresponsive to her questions. They changed her act when the dress required fittings/alterations because they had yet another opportunity to suck more money out of her then. Maybe it's a pattern there? I ordered my dress in mid September (from another boutique) & my wedding is April 10th & still haven't heard of an approximate ship date! Mind you, Twirl (the store I ordered my BM dresses from) knew exactly which week the dresses would be shipped/delivered. I don't understand the mystery here with bridal boutiques. I'm aware that the designer has to cut, sew the dress, etc. & that takes time, but shouldn't the store have better communication with the designer to know approximate ship dates? Ugh. GL!

I would be furious.  Actually, I would probably go in store and ask everyday.  Dresses are EXPENSIVE, and you don't want to be one of those brides that never receives it.  A friend of mine got ordered her dress months in advance, and she had a similar problem.  Ironically, her dress arrived right in time for "rush" alterations to be needed.

I'm so sorry!  Make sure to tell every bride you know to avoid them like the plague.  That's the best way to get buyers revenge :)

I purchased my dress from I DO I Do Bridal, and I never had any problems.....in fact they were very supportive when I had a problem arrise.  I paid for my dress in full in June, and they told me to call back 2 weeks later so they would have a ship date.  The ship date was supposed to be in September which was fine since my wedding wasn't till the end of January, but my dress ended up being there in August.  They don't do any alterations at the store so they recommended a lady to me and she really was great.  I had ordered some beading from the dress designer since I was having a bolero made and I wanted things to match.  Anyway, my fiance and I called things off so when I Do I Do called to say the beading was in I said that I had left Arizona since we broke up and I wouldn't be able to pick the stuff up right away.  They held on to everything for 2 months, and when I called to see if they could help with shipping the dress to my parents so I didn't have to see it, they were more than helpful.  In the end I didn't have them ship it though because my fiance and I worked things out and we now have a new date set.

I hate to say it, but I think that the fault may lie with the dress design company and that I Do I Do doesn't want to call you back until they have exact information.  Just my opinion since things went well with me.  Anyway, I would be irritated if that was going on with me, so I definitely understand your frustration.  Good luck, and I hope things work out!

I would be calling them every day, if not going in every day.  You paid for your dress, and whether the fault is theirs or the designer's, they should be doing everything they can to help you track it down.  The least they could do is call the designer and figure out what's going on.  I think you have every right to be upset.  Service like that is ridicuous!

My friend is getting married 05/30/10 and she and I went to I Do I Do looking for bridesmaids dresses.  The salesgirl was moderately helpful until we found the dresses we thought we wanted to order, then she disappeared.  We sat and waited for a while and when she finally came back, she was really pushy about the size I should order.  In the end we decided not to order from them because the colors of the different dresses we liked wouldn't have matched closely enough.  After hearing all the trouble you're having, I'm glad we didn't order from them!
