Wedding Reception Venue

Hey girls!  I'm new to Phoenix, and I'm planning a wedding in unfamiliar territory.  Any ideas for a good, reasonably priced wedding reception venue?  My family and bridesmaids are in NC, so it's helpful when as much as possible is included.

What area are you looking in? North, West or East valley?

Look at the Wright House in Mesa, my FI and I checked out several locations and liked the ambiance of this venue (they have two different ones) as well as their inclusive packages.  Their website was good for us to get an idea of the place, but it made a huge impact when we went there and looked around. They were all very friendly and helpful.  I think they have nightly open houses, but they told us we were welcome to revisit the property (my mom wants to check it out) as well as envision how we want our day to go,  at anytime.  Good luck hunting!

There are lots of places in the east valley to choose from. When I was looking for a venue in the west valley it seemed like they were all in the east valley! Stonebridge Manor is nice (this is what my photographer tells me anyway, I've never been there)The wright HouseFiest FountainsVilla Siena in Gilbert is gorgeous!I'm not sure what type of venue you are looking for so there a few different choicesAlso, check some of the local hotels. I was amazed at how many of them actually host weddings!

I would recommend checking out any and all hotels in your area.  They almost all do weddings and have much better prices than many of the "wedding places".  But if I could choose a different venue for me, I would have went with The Castle at Ashley Manor, I have heard such great things.  Or the Secret Garden or Schnepf Farms.

We're having ours at San Marcos Resort in downtown Chandler.  It's the oldest golf resort in Arizona and has a lot of history (Al Capone had a speakeasy there, several old Hollywood stars stayed there and have rooms named after them).  They don't charge for the rental of the facilities, but they do establish a food and drink minimum.  So far they've been great to work with, and if our wedding turns out as fabulous as I hope it to be, I'm sure I'll have more great things to say about them.
