Anyone up for a DIY GTG?

It's been a while since our last get together.  We should do one soon, but maybe with a different twist.Everyone would be welcome, of course, but if you have small DIY projects that you've done (invitations, programs, favors, flowers, etc), bring a sample along with a list of materials needed/directions/recipes for that particular project.  I think it would be a good way to get some ideas and inspiration from other brides, and also maybe give some encouragement to brides who may be a little hesitant to take on any DIY projects because they don't think they're craft-tastically inclined or for fear of their project showing up on Craftfail.com (check out that website if you want a good giggle).  Anyone up for something like this?  Or should I file this under "Idea fail"?   :)

I don't think it's an idea fail.  I'm having a small one with just my MOH 8/29.  I live in the North Valley (23rd Ave & Happy Valley) and as long as you're not allergic to cats anyone is welcome to come! You bring the wine, I'll supply the appetizers!

That sounds like fun. I would fall under the category of the bride who wants to do DIY projects but is afraid I am not crafty enough. I would love to see what you ladies have come up with :)

I have done some minor DIY projects. I ended up getting hot wax squirted into my eye this evening while attempting some DIY centerpieces. Turned out great though. Guess its all worth it in the end.

This sounds like a lot of fun.  I took on doing all of the stationery myself (invitations, envelopes, info packets, programs, rehearsal dinner invites, etc) along with the table centerpieces inside.  I could definitely bring samples and photos if y'all do end up getting together.  Does everyone live in the West Valley?  I live in S. Scottsdale...

I'm in Chandler.  Last time we all met up at Tempe Marketplace.  It seemed to work out fairly well for everyone.

I'm not at the DIY project stage just yet but would love some ideas and motivation. My bridesmaids keep bugging me to give them things to work on and do and I literally have nothing at the moment. I live in South Tempe so Tempe Marketplace sounds good to me if that's what everyone else wants and if you don't mind someone who doesn't have any projects to share just yet tagging along ;)

I think this is a great idea.   I made my own save the dates and I am working on creating the programs.   We are also trying to decide what to do with the favors.  I live in North Scottsdale.

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I made my save the dates and I plan to make my invites.  I am interested in meeting up to see what others have done.

I would love to join if this hasn't already taken place? I live in Maricopa...and am open to hosting as well but I know I live a little far out. I'm in the DIY but craft-challenged group but have some ideas collected and would be happy to share =) Sarah
