Dress search frustration

Just venting a bit - still searching for a dress.  Did find one that I "think" I really like, but was more expensive than I wanted and still not sure about the skirt part. 

*sigh* feel like I really need to make a decision soon since I am almost at the 6 month out mark, but just haven't found one that I put on and am in love with.  Not sure that is going to happen.  There are a bunch of dresses online that I really like pictures of, but no stores around carry them so I can try them on

I really didn't think I was going to be that picky - but guess this is harder than I realized.

Note:  went to Azteca this weekend, and definitely recommend Suzanne's over it - wow what terrible service!

I'm sorry to hear that! I also liked Suzanne's and TOTALLY struggled with finding my dress. And I thought I wasn't picky at all. I started with about 20 dresses I picked out online and thought FOR SURE one of them would be the one, but none of them were flattering and some weren't available in AZ. I even made a girls weekend trip to CA to try a few on, only to find that they were SO not flattering - totally disappointing.

BUT I finally planned a weekend and said I'd make a decision by then, and randomly I was looking at dresses before my appointment and found one online. I called I Do I Do and they had the dress...I went, tried it on and was done! I'm still totally stoked about my dress too.

So don't worry, it'll happen! Have you tried Uptown Bridal in Chandler? They have GREAT customer service too!  I bought my dress from I Do I Do, but the service was less than spectacular and I did have some drama with it being delivered, so I would just recommend you be VERY firm with them if you go there.

Sorry you're having such a hard time finding a dress.  I JUST found mine yesterday, and I will tell you that for me- it wasn't exactly an "Ah-HAH" moment.  When I first tried it on I really liked it- and put it in my "keep" pile of dresses.  Then when I tried it on a second time- I started falling in love with it.  Since then, I can't stop looking at it online and I'm obsessed with it.  So mine definitely "grew" on me.

I guess I'm just telling you my story to show that maybe you won't try it on and IMMEDIATELY be in love.  But if you find one that is a Maybe- put it aside and try it on later and see how you feel.  Maybe Your Dress will be a "grower" too.

Mine was definitely a feeling.  I knew it was mine as soon as I tried it on.  What were you thinking in terms of style. Maybe we can brainstorm...

Also, Janet Kirkman does redesign dresses,  so she could make any changes to an existing dress... Just a thought.

Beckity - yeah, the Claudia from Maggie Sottero is the front runner now.  I've tried it on twice and I do really like it.  I think I just want to see what pictures of it look like (waiting for a friend to send me the  pics)  also Azteca was offering 10% off and I'm assuming I can get Suzanne's to match that.

Nilla - Mostly I am looking for something with side ruching and maybe sweetheart neckline (although I think this is pretty easy to alter), corset back is a big plus for me and something like chiffon or organza materia (with no pick ups etc).

I'm thinking of checking out Uptown bridal - looks like they have a lot of dresses from Sophia Tolli which looking online I seem to like a lot of

I kind of just want to be done with the whole thing

I didn't feel an immediate "This is it" moment like they do on Say Yes to the Dress. A lot of women don't, so don't worry. You will still feel beautiful on your special day! I hope you find the right one soon! I bought my dress at Azteca, but also visited Suzanne's. My service was fine at Azteca, but I went once before with a friend (I was her MOH) and the service sucked! I think it just depends who's helping you. It sounds like you have a very specific idea of what you want. I did too, and I got something slightly different than what I originally envisioned. I love it, though, so try to keep an open mind.

I am in your boat too!  So, don't feel bad.  I have been to Alfred Angelo in Tucson, Davids Bridal (in PHX, Tucson and Michigan), Azteca and a few other small stores in Tucson... and I still don't have a dress!  I feel like you, that I just have not had that moment when I try a dress on.  I am frustrated.  All my friends are asking me when I am going to get my dress, and after all of the disappointment, I no longer want to look for a dress!  My wedding date is 11/6/2010.  Hopefully it makes you feel better that you are not alone.  When I go on my month board, I just get stressed out because they are all talking about their dresses!

ha - my month board are all way past the dress stage. 

I'm heading up to the Almond Tree (consignment store) tomorrow night to see what they have there.

I really do like the one dress, just was more than I wanted to spend (although still within budget)
