inexpensive venues in phoenix area?

Hello All-

I am new to the site, and just got engaged!  He proposed on New Year's Eve, which was the 1 year anniversary of our first date.  I'm very excited to see what ideas I can take from you!

I am on a fairly small budget for planning the budget.  Trying to stay around $4,500 for EVERYTHING.  Venue, food, dress, invites, etc. etc. etc.  I'm trying to reserve $1000 for dress, makeup, hair, accessories, and tux, and other misc things.  So trying to accomplish everything else within about $3,500.  There will be some flexibilty in price, but starting with the lowest possible is ideal.

Is it possible to find a cute little venue and the catering, photographer, and stuff taken care of for that price?  I will make my own centerpieces and don't care about a DJ as long as we have overhead music.  It will be probably a max of 50 people attending, and maybe 10 or 20 more for reception only.

A lot of the inexpensive venues I've found don't include catering and photographer.  And I just don't know how to go about finding, or creating, a good "package deal".

Ready for a list of venues and advice!  lol
Thanks in advance!
Rebecca

My friend has started her photography business recently and is trying to build her clientele.  She does amazing work and I know she is really reasonable in prices.  Her editing skills are impressive and she has a good perspective.  Check out her webpage!

I am full aware that my response is not a venue....but the poster seemed to be on a tight budget and as we all know photographers are BIG part of the budget!

I am only trying to help! Geez!

It sounds more like she was asking for something all inclusive, so one vendor isn't too much help.   I was mostly teasing you anyway, but it sounds more like you're trying to help your friend (not saying it's a horrible thing).  =)

To OP:   3500 is honestly pretty low, but it can be done if you take the time to look around and go look at places and see if it's acceptable to what you want for your day.   The absolute lowest place that I found that had everything included was Chapel at the Farm in Gilbert.   I would have been happy enough there, but my FI wasn't.  LOL

The place honestly doesn't look like much when you drive up and nothing is decorated or set up...  but they do a great job, have a really really amazing photographer and caterer that I checked out extensively.  You can't beat the price anywhere for what they do.

It would be the first place I would check out with your budget though.    http://www.chapelonthefarm.com/chapelatthefarm.html

thank you for the advice and input!  it helps.  it seems like the budget will have to be extended some to accomplish everything or i'll have to cut down on how nice the venue and reception is.  i didn't realize how expensive everything was! it's just that $5k is all that my dad is giving us and we don't have ANY money for a wedding.  but i'm doing the centerpieces myself, cheap invites and other things like that.  it seems like venue, food and photographer are the big ticket items that add up fast.  also the wedding is at the end of august which eliminates the possiblity of an outdoor venue, which takes a lot of choices away.  i will have lots of hunting to do!  lol

When you talk to venues, ask for their summer pricing.  Everyone has some type of deal because it's slow season.  Try to work the price a bit too.  I"ve found that it helps because everyone needs business and you need to keep a wallet too. GL
