I am getting married at Greystone Hall in Akron on November 13th, and I love the venue.  They are not willing to budge on price at all, but this is the one place I wanted to splurge on. If you have a lot of money saved for a reception place, it very vintage looking! :)

My sister got married a few years ago a the Oakes Lakeside in Chippewa Lakes, and it was beautiful.  Even great for an outdoor fall wedding, if you had it in September or early October.  It was right by the lake and amazing!

I am getting married at Lake Forest Country Club in October and its is sooooo beautiful!! it is kind of a hidden gem because it did not show up in the typical searches for venues. All of the country clubs around Akron are gorgeous but some are kind of pricey. We almost went with the Sheraton in cuyahoga falls (very pretty but pricey) and also a unique that we were just about to sign with was Quaker Station in downtown Akron! Good luck!

Medina: Williams on the Lake, Rustic Hills CC, Weymouth CC, Caro's Party Center.

Just north of Medina in Brunswick: Mapleside Farm (if your guest list is under 150) or Skyview Lodge.

Peninsula (just west of Hudson): November Lodge or Great Hall at Happy Days in the CVNP. Great for smaller guest lists. Sarah's Vineyard Winery in Cuy. Falls, across the street from Blossom.

Akron area: Conrad Botzum Farmstead, Hale Farm, Stan Hywet Hall (small wedding), Wolf Creek Winery, Perkins Stone Mansion, Viking Vinyard (Kent).

Most of the more unique places are geared toward smaller guest lists. Hope some of these work for you!

I would definitely second Lake Forrest CC – outdoor ceremony location on lake then beautiful woodworking/fireplace/layout inside with lots of windows…amazing place and fairly affordable for the uniqueness! A lot of good recs from PP as well.  I will throw out Quailcrest Farms in Wooster since its pretty accessible and would be beautiful rustic location for a summer/fall wedding. There are a number of places owned by U of Akron – Martin Center, Quaker Square, Hower House, and the Student Union that all offer affordable and unique venues.  Akron Art MuseumAkron Civic Theater

Thanks everyone! Jenny-I was looking into Oakes Lakeside so I am glad your sister loved it. We are trying to keep the guest list below 150 so that should work. I did look at Akron Art Museum but I think it is too modern (and a bit pricey). I like Stan Hywett but not the indoor reception area.
I will also check out Lake Forest CC and the others!!

I'm having my reception at Lake Forest CC as well! Mine's on Aug 21. It's very unique - not your typical reception hall.
