I stumbled on them through Project Wedding but cannot seem to find much in the way of reviews. Has anyone held/attended a wedding there? How was it in terms of per person pricing, flexibility, decor and add-ons? Thanks!
I've been trying to make an appointment with them to see the venue. I've heard good things but haven't really experienced it myself. i'm hoping to get an appointment there and if i like it then have my wedding there.
I didn't look at Monty's, but if you are looking for something in the area close to that, we are having our wedding (next weekend) at River Forest Country Club. It is just south on York Ave. and then turn left on Grand Ave. It is a private golf course, but they open their banquet space to the public for events.

It would about $55 per person. I was super excited. I signed the contact and left a $500 deposit. My fiance and I went over our list again and managed to cut it down to about 220 and when I called Monty's to change my guest total they said that I couldn't change that. <div>She said she would speak with the manager and she got back to me and told me that they would do that but I would now have to pay for each chair cover and the hor derves. I told her then I won't be getting either of those and she got an attitude with me. </div><div>She went on to tell me that the contract was a legally binding agreement and that they could take me to court for the total guest that I originally gave. I went back and forth with her and told her no where on my contract does it say that it is legally binding. </div><div>She said that it is not on the contract that I signed but that they had something that said that they could do that. </div><div>It got so bad and she was theatening and calling me so much that I ended up calling her and telling her that my fiance and I totally called off the wedding. I lost my deposit but I am not worried about that. </div><div>If she is going to act like that and treat me that way when she only has $500 imagine when I give her all the money. I'm not willing to be treated that way on my wedding day.</div><div>Don't go there. </div>

I am glad someone else is asking this question. I too was thinking of booking this place for our wedding next year, but not so sure now after reading that other review. When I called they threw in some freebies and told me I could bring in 500 so that makes me nervous. My experience with them sounds like the other reply. I am just looking for a place to have my wedding where it doesn't make us go broke. I just don't get it why are weddings so darn expensive. If anyone knows of a hall like Montys that is affordable please let me know.
