NWR: Places to find pretty picture frames

Ladies, my FIL's have their 40th anniversary in a few weeks and I desperately need to find a gorgeous picture frame. FI has had all of their wedding photos secretly repaired from some water damage and we're going to give them one 8X10 in a pretty frame (my gift) and when they go "omg how is this possible?" then we give them FI's gift of an entire new wedding album,

I have searched for frames and can't find any I think they'd like so am hoping you ladies may have some suggestions for me. The major places I've tried were Tiffany, Things Remembered, and a couple Home Goods stores.

You might have better luck going to a store that can match a frame to your liking and photograph.  Michael's, The Great Frame Up, and other custom shops have such an extensive selection, and then you can coordinate the matting as well and make the photo that much more unique and personal.  You could either pair the framing to the era of the photograph or the decor of their home.

ETA:  Because you seem open to variety (Tiffany's versus Home Goods), you might try Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, or stores like World Market or Pier One for ready made frames.  Certain furniture stores often have a nice selection as well, such as the Z Gallerie.

Check out the wedding and china section of Macy's, especially the one on State Street if you can. They have such a nice variety!!!

I just checked out Macy's website earlier and they did have some pretty things. I may pop in there tomorrow after work.

Does anyone know how long Michaels would take to do a custom framing job so small? The only time I ever used them was for a fairly large Ansel Adams piece and it took them about 3 weeks to get it finished. I assume a smaller job would take less time?

I would go to a custom frame shop. There are ton in Lincoln Park. They usually work with you to have these things done quickly if you need them. If you use a house frame, they usually have in stock. I would recommend Prints Unlimited on Fullerton and Ashland. They do great work! Good luck!
