Boo : (

I got my parasols from Luna Bazaar yesterday, and they're AWFUL!!!  I wanted ivory, chocolate brown and cinnamon red (for that deep red color) but they look yellow, tan and orange.  I'm going to have to return all of them and look for something else in time for the wedding next month :(  If I can't get any parasols for the guests, I at least need 1 deep red/burgundy one for me (possibly 2 more for aisle decor) and 2 chocolate brown for the bridesmaids.Any place you guys can recommend to order, other than Luna Bazaar, Asian Ideas and Oriental Trading Company?  I'm also thinking that I'd rather just have cloth over paper, since they'll look nicer, and I won't need as many anymore.   TIA

Try Chinatown!  We got some pretty nice ones for my cousin's wedding last year. They were only $3-$5 I think.

    solid colored or patterns?

I think they have both solid and patterned parasols.  The patterns def have a chinese touch to them though.  Take a friend (Ade???  Hahaha!) and go there fro dim sum and check out the parasols to see if you find any you like.  I know I've seen ivory and red ones but I don't know if they have chocolate brown ones.

I'm sorry to hear that!  Mine from Luna Bazaar were good... though I ordered their white ones, which were a light ivory color.  Just in case you want to get their "white" ones.

I think the pictures of the colors I wanted on Luna Bazaar's website were actually fabric, not paper, like what they sell.  Deceiving :(  Don't these look like fabric parasols, not paper?  Attempting to PIP, but I've never successfully done it yet.Don't know if this PIP will work, and I don't know why everything is bold now.  Geeez

Oh what a bummer! I ordered mine from the paper lantern store - they didn't have many colours, but they were nice (though a bit smelly, so we aired them out on the lanai).

Thanks ladies.  I'm just bummed.  I had a vision with parasols, and that's probably not going to happen.  I may have to pay for bouquets for my bridesmaids after all, since the parasols didn't work out.  I wanted the lauhala box favors, but they don't have my size.  I wanted cute deep red/burgundy peeptoe shoes, but I'm having a heck of a time finding anything cute, especially since FI isn't that much taller than my, and all the cute shoes are high.  I only have a little over 3 weeks before we leave for Oahu, and I was hoping to have this stuff all taken care of, not trying to find alternatives!!!  WAH :POkay, thanks, there's my whining for today....for now : )  Phew.  Thanks for listening.

Ah...that's too bad...I'm sure you should be able to do a rush order and ship directly to Hawaii or depending on how many days you have before your wedding i'm pretty sure you should be able to buy some on Oahu.  If you have a WC then maybe she can help you locate the parasols as well? Good luck and don't give up if this is something you really want. Kelsey, have you asked your WC if she can locate some for you...they may be a lil more expensive on the Island but at least you'll have them...just a thought. J. :-)

I'm no practical help with parasols or shoes, but I'm sending knottie vibes that you'll find both in plenty of time. :::::::::Knottie vibes:::::::::::

hey elaine, i'm getting a parasol or two at floradec...heard they have some...but since Marie said Chinatown is cheaper...may have to look there too! :) Try calling Floradec in advanced to ask them to hold the colors you need for you... that may be the better solution than having to carry your parasols on the flight over...the less you lug around the better! GL! we are both in "crunch time" mode right now! ahhh!

ya, crunch time sux!!!  I know a lot of girls are getting married sooner than I am, so I'm sure we're all feeling it right about now.  Thankfully we have each other to vent to and support throughout the process.Love you guys!!!  :)

Elaine, you totally have time - 3 weeks isn't too bad!  I hope all the websites ppl suggested above end up helping. And didn't Tya say 2 pineapple cookies fit into her 2x2 boxes?  If necessary, you don't have to push the lid all the way down.  Hey, and the 2x2 are cheaper!  I liked my 2x2 (though I used the heart-shaped cookies that were 2x2), I hope you end up with something you like!Believe me, there are plenty of details that I didn't end up getting to, but once the wedding started, and definitely after too, I definitely didn't dwell on those details and feel like it was so important.  You'll be so happy being married, I hope the rest of the stuff doesn't bother you too much!hugs and vibes!!

Thanks Jen!!  You're so right!  I'm sure everything will work out as it should and I should just be happy that we're finally getting married!!!I haven't had a chance to look at all the websites that were suggested yet, but I'm sure that I'll find something.  I don't really need to get them for the guests anymore, but I would really like them for myself, the bridesmaids and my mom.  Ericka paged me and I'm crossing my fingers that her parasol will work out.  I think I'll just get it anyway, so at least I'll have one red one.
