Olowalu Plantation House

i was wondering if you are allowed to bring your own alcohol? And about how much is it per person for the catering?

Has anyone has a wedding there with a budget of 9k or less? During the weekend? Idk if that is even possible.

I should add that we plan on having 20 guests.

Yes, you can supply your own alcohol. Really, you have to supply EVERYTHING.

Food will cost whatever you end up paying for the caterer you hire.

I think 9k is tight - but maybe doable if the budget doesn't factor in things like dress, rings, h&m, gifts, etc. Again, you have to supply everything. Tables, chairs, lighting, sound/dj, plates, cutlery, set up/takedown, flowers, linens, food, drink, staffing, etc, etc. I think that, by the time we factored in the site fee + all the incidentals before food and drink, we were close to 6000$ spent. So, I guess it depends on how many guests you've got coming and how much you want to spend on food and drink.

On a weekend, the site fee is already $5000, so if you try for a weekday, you'll be saving $1500 just on the venue. I think it's do-able, too, but you gotta make sacrifices, that's for sure! They also discount another 25% if you just have the site from 10am-730pm instead of a full day (til 10pm) Alyson, thanks for the heads-up on BYOB! We're thinking of just hire a bartender and buy our alcohol from Costco or anywhere cheaper that anyone knows of...? Anyone have a range for bartender pricing? From simple offerings (beer, wine, 1 or 2 speciality cocktails) to full bar service? Thanks and i hope that helps...

Most caterers work closely with bartenders, or have their own.  So talk to your food provider on how their bartending works.  Otherwise, your WC will have contacts, too.  Stacy from Bars R Us or something is pretty popular.

In addition to Costco, Hawaiian Liquor Superstore is also recommended a lot.  We went with Costco because we were able to return any unopened and unchilled bottles of wine & cases of beer/soda.

Sweeet. Thank you Tanq! Costco takes anything back even 3/4 eaten containers for ketchup. O swear i haven't tried, but I've seen it on their return shelves. lol. I think Costco will be it!
