I'm working on my invites...

So send me your wording!!!  I keep changing what I have and I can't find anything online that I love!  My parents names need to be on it and I want it Bride and Groom...not Bride to Groom.  Thanks!

Sorry I can't be of help!  Our parents names are not listed, and the words Bride & Groom don't appear either :-)  Maybe if you post something that gets closer to what you want, we can help you edit.

    Mine say:
    Mr. and Mrs. Lee MyLastName
    and
    Mr. and Mrs. Mike FiancesLastName
invite you to share in the joyful celebration of
    the marriage of their children
    Jennifer Michelle
    and
    Clayton Michael
    on July 5, 2011
    and then our location details.

I  think it's really nice to include your parents since they did raise you for the last 20 some years.  I know some people think it's silly when you reach a certain age, but I'm 30 and I wanted to recognize both of our parents, as without them - we wouldn't be here.

I'm with AK - we included both sets of parents on the invites even though his didn't contribute money (and really, I think it's kinda tacky to award recognition based on a cash donation). I think there are pictures of what I did in my planning bio.

Well I'm thinking we could have a Hawaiian saying in the beginning, followed by the English version (would be cute and tie in the Hawaiian theme).  The issue is my parents names.  The trouble I'm having because I want it to be bride and groom, not bride to groom and I feel like all the wording is little off for me with it.  I just feel like the normal options aren't us. such as request your presence and the unity expressions doesn't work for bride and groom.

Jen and Kaesha - I love yours and I agree, but putting both parents names isn't an option for us...long story, but his mom was never around and his dad passed away. So putting his mom and her husband is just weird :(

Does this sound weird to you, because I feel like it does.

Here is one that you could change the wording around a bit and make work:

Mr. and Mrs. Bob LastName are thrilled to invite you
to partake in the union of
    Nathan Benavides
    and
    Maggen Quiroz

I'm not that thrilled with the wording of this particular piece, but you could easily change it to fit your situation.

    Or maybe:
    Mr. and Mrs. Darnell Jones
Request the honor of your presence
At the marriage of their daughter
    Dewanna Jones McPhereson
    And
    Christopher Kwame Johnson
    Saturday, the fourth of June

The union one could work...I just thought this would be so much easier haha!  And I also have to find wording for the AHR invitations too! Good thing I told myself I would have it done by the first of the year and I started early on it!

Where are other places to look?  I've searched online (minus looking at each possible invitation to see the wording on it which is what I may have to do next, searched TK wording, and asked friends,  I would feel weird going into a print shop and asking their advice knowing I'm printing them myself.

My parents hosted both, and his parents have been separated for over 20 years (but never divorced, long weird story) so we did not put them on the invite. I think his mom would have had a cow.

ps - i have pictures in my bio if you needed to see it laid out correctly!

You could always just say "your parents request your presence at the marriage ceremony of Bride and Groom" or something along those lines. HTH!

We just started working on ours too...ironically they need to go out next week! Ahhh!!  Hopefully this helps...we are putting our AHR info on both invites for future reference and to encourage then not to bring gifts to the island.  Although ours have both names I think it would be fine without his...

    Good Luck!
