Ideas for Bachelorette

I am the MOH for an October wedding.  We are planning to do the bachelorette in mid-Sept, but I'm having trouble with ideas.  The bride is more of a home-body and would not be into the traditional bachelorette.  I'm thinking something along the lines of a cooking class or going to see a play, but am not loving those 2 ideas.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Last summer, when my college roommate got married, she asked that we just do something small.  We spent the weekend at my friends house in Baltimore.

Friday night we had a night in just watching girly movies and chatting.  Saturday morning/afternoon was spent at the spa.  We paid for her to get a massage, manicure and pedicure and we got mani/pedis as well.  Also, the spa let us bring our own food and they even set us up in our own room.  We laid out all the foods, mostly finger sandwiches, fruits & veggies, and of course some champagne.  We had so much food we were sharing with the staff and other girls that came in!  Then Saturday night we went out and did a little bar hopping.  Sunday morning we took a trip to the aquarium.

You could probably try something similar, without the bar hopping.

I planned a bachelorette party this past spring.  The other bridesmaids were underage so we didn't do the bar scene either.  We ended up doing a pole dancing class and then a fun dinner and girlie sleepover.  I know pole dancing isn't for everyone (I had my doubts too!) but it was really fun and pretty laid back.  We spent most of the time laughing and we all had a good time.

I really like the idea of a cooking class too :)

I am in somewhat of the same situation, because I am having surgery a week from Monday and won't be able to do much of anything.  My girls are keeping me informed (of most, but not of all) because they want to make sure that it's something I can do.

A couple of things we came up with:
Doing an afternoon tea (there are a couple of places that do this; let me know if you need names of places)
Doing a dinner theatre (http://ncp.art.officelive.com/default.aspx this place is rather informal and inexpensive; we also talked about doing this and then doing a chocolate dessert pot at the Melting Pot afterwards)
Lucky Strikes Bowling in Philly (this is a 50's bowling alley for adults only; there is a dresscode and you get all dressed up for it; I have heard it's tons of fun.  I can't do it, but for you it might be a go!)
Dave and Buster's in Philly (I love this place; it's a Chuck E Cheese for adults!)

Another idea that may or may not appeal to you is a consultant show.  You could work it that everyone chips in and buys the bride one item, or everyone buys her an inexpensive item.  Pampered Chef, Dove Chocolate, and even sex toy parties would be an idea (some people are keen on this, some aren't; I am just throwing it out as an idea).

Also, Mrs.Lura did a Murder Mystery Dinner that she said was different and interesting; you may try paging her for more info.

About the cooking classes: in this area, they are very, very expensive.  Extremely expensive.  We nixed the idea right away because they are so much.
