We picked out the tuxes. We went with Jim's Formal Wear, via Brides and Grooms in Newark, DE.
We first went to Men's Wearhouse, thinking they would be the least amount of money and easy to deal with. Ha. Not only did they have no vest colors to choose from (and nothing that would have matched my dress), but they required a $40 deposit right then and there to just put our wedding party in the system. Um, yeah, no one told me that when I called the store asking for information. The only reason we were going to go with MW was because FI wanted to try on the tux before renting it; he decided ultimately to go with Brides and Grooms, and was fine with everything once he heard how it works (the tuxes arrive the Tuesday before the wedding, and if there are issues they are exchanged the next day). The company they use is Jims; they have pages and pages of vest colors (versus MW, which had 2), and they were about the same price (the tux was $100, shoes were $24). We put FI in Cobalt (to match me), the guys in black (to match his Best Maid's dress), the dad's in Silver, and the RB in Cobalt as well. Considering the issues I have heard from other brides about MW, and that I haven't heard anything wrong about Jim's from bride who used them, I am happy I went with them.
We got a guestbook; we went with a simple one that guests sign, tho I am going to try and make a snapfish book (while I am laid up from surgery) and use that instead. But we wanted to get one in case that doesn't work out; I let FI choose, and he picked a green and cream one (not our colors, but I really am not picky over that).
We got my crinoline; we went to DB, since they had it for the cheapest. I am not a fan of DB, and once again they didn't impress me (the consultant walked away and left me standing in my underwear!), but we only needed them for this, so whatever.
Still have a crapton, and I feel like between surgery and the wedding, there isn't enough time to do it all. But I have some great friends and a great BP, and they are kicking my butt to get things done!
