Hi

I am looking for a wedding officiant for a non religous wedding. any reccomendations?

I don't have a recommendation, but I would stear clear of Bobbi Silvernail with Iowa Vows.  We had talked to her about doing ours and she is terrible with communication.  She doesn't have any sort of contract and with her poor communication, you have no idea whether she'll actually show up.

We're now talking to Barron Geiger from Crossway Community Church in Altoona but he does require 6 counseling sessions that are Christian-based (so not sure you would want to go that route).

We found a (retired) Unitarian minister to do ours.  We're in Iowa City and he's based in Cedar Rapids, but I think overall the Unitarians are very open to doing secular ceremonies.

Hi! This is Bobbi with Iowa Vows. Karen Israel , who has is "milesbella" left a very unfair message about me being unreliable. I did have a family issue and was unable to contact her for several weeks, but I was the one who actually decided NOT to marry this couple as she was very demanding, even sending me her own contract regarding the ceremony.
