Both. Either way works. I know I am cutting it close but we would love to get married in a church. Thanks!

I know of a church in Downtown St Ambrose Cathedral they let you get married there even if you aren't a member.

Actually St. Ambrose is a Catholic Cathedral and I'm pretty sure you have to be a member there for over a year before you can get married there.

Perhaps one of the non-denominational churches...

I was looking online and unfortunately, like you said,  I think most churches require that you are members.  You might be able to find a really great location that is not a church and still have a pastor perform the ceremony.

I would like to help out with more suggestions.  Maybe if you shared a little more detail of what you had in mind, it might helps us think of places.

What kind of ceremony are looking for?  Would you prefer a ceremony & reception all in one location?  Approximately how many people? What is exactly is your timeline?

I am looking for a place that I can have both reception and ceremony but it has to be under $500. I know that its impossible but our budget it really tight. If anyone knows know of any church that would be great to let me know.

I know I am reaching for the stars here.

The Granger Community Center used to be a Church. We've kept the chapel area in "ceremony" condition. It is the "Events room." There is also a dining room with various size conference rooms that guests have used for dressing rooms

The church I'm using in Ames, you don't have to be a member of, but I don't know if that's too far awauy for you.  they have a fellowship hall but it's not overly big.  Here's the website:

    Hope it helps!

Catholic churchs almost always require you to be a member.  I called a few churches in my area and found that the non-deminitaional is the way to go.  But have you consdiered checking out local colleges?  They have places of worship and they "rent" them out.

Valley United Methodist Church lets you get married there if you aren't a member i believe.  My first wedding was there in 2004 so it may have changed, but it's a beautiful church with a large fellowship hall and nice kitchen etc.  We did have to pay a $150 donation since we weren't members.
