Topic: Beauty!

New topic, cuz I'm bored at work! What are you all doing for your hair makeup? Professional or DIY?

My sister is in beauty school currently and will be doing my hair in a low chignon.

My make up will be DIY. I'll have low key gold eye make up and red lips! I'm using stila lip stain in Fiery. Love it! Giving it a full day trial today because I have a Christmas thing tonight. So far so good! I'm also using make up forever hd foundation.

Re: Topic: Beauty!

  • Professional. Friend of my aunts who also did my hair for prom. hahaha. a few years since then.

I will definitely post pictures of her lovely work once I get my bridal protraits back. :)
  • I just hired a makeup artist for myself, 2 bridesmaids, FSIL and my mom.  I'm having my makeup trial on the 18th.  I just don't wear much makeup on a daily basis - so for the wedding, and especially the pictures, I feel better having it done professionally.

I haven't decided on my hair yet.  I have naturally curly hair that could be pinned up on my head in two minutes and look great.  The more time someone fiddles with it, the worse it will look.  So I am shying away from having it done professionally - but I'm not great with updo's myself.  I'm thinking about going to my stylist and having him show me and one of the bridesmaids how to pin my hair up in a way that will stay, but won't be over done.  Whatever I do I need to get on it!  These loose ends are going to make me crazy!  Oh - and I know I want something in my hair - something sparkly - so I need to get on that, as well.
  • Professional. I'm lucky that I can get my hair into a ponytail most days. And makeup? Forget about it. It has to be something special for me to throw on some foundation and MAYBE some eyeliner.

I felt beautiful and special after my hair and makeup trial. So it may cost more than I would like to spend on something like that, but it is a splurge that I think is worth it to feel beautiful for the wedding.

  • My own. I can't stand professional make up. I look like a clown every time and I prefer to do it myself. My bridesmaids and I are doing our hair together and helping each other out. I think it will be fun, and no one can make me look like myself better than me :)

I'm not wearing my day to day make up though, I've splurged on the good stuff for the big day, and bolder colors. It's nice because I can decide exactly what I want, and learn things that I think look nice.

<div>Same here! I'm usually a drug store brand kind of girl (Which usually consists of tinted moisturizer and a little eye makeup) but for the wedding I'm getting most of the items from sephora (because they have sephora inside jcp and my fiance gets me his discount there!) </div>
  • I hired a hair and makeup artist for myself, my mom and my bridesmaids. Everyone is every excited to get done up and pampered a little bit.

Im planning on a side bun for my hair. Trying to find some sort of hair pin to add a little sparkle, but havent found one Im crazy about yet. Im having an evening wedding, so probably going to do a smoky eye and keep the lips subtle.
  • My mom, sister, and I are all having our hair done. Waiting for FMIL and FSIL to decide if they want to or not, so I can hire an extra girl. (BMs are sister and FSIL).

I had my make-up done at the MAC counter, just to see what they would do, get some tips, etc. I wrote down all of the products they used. I am also going to have it done at the Clinque counter and do the same. And then splurge on all of the nice products that I liked and just do it myself.

The only thing make-up wise that I'm back and forth with is eyelashes. Either the individual fakies or maybe extensions. There was a good thread on the Attire and Accessories board over it that got me thinking. My friend owns a hair and beauty salon and does both, so I may try out the extensions for Christmas and go from there.
  • I'm having both hair and makeup done.  I'm not very good at puutting my own mkaeup on anyway, but I went to the trial and they did airbrush, and it was just amazing.  My dry skin looked so even and glowed.  I couldn't imagine having it another way now!!!

I'm having my hair done professionally, along with my mom, sister (Maid of Honor/only bridesmaid) and officiant (best friend who's marrying us). It's going to be low, curly and over one shoulder - along the lines of an elegant side-ponytail, for lack of a better description.

We were all in agreement that we'd do our own makeup. I'm using Color Tattoo eyeshadow because you can literally run your fingers over it and it won't come off, gel liner, Cat Eyes mascara (waterproof of course!), my standard BB creme and a fiery red lipstain I found. I've done my own makeup trials twice and it lasts for a long time. My only issue with the lipstain is that it wears off toward the inside of my lips, but no biggie, I'll just reapply!

  • I wonder if that's the same lipstain I'm using? My color is called fiery and it only wears off in that same spot

  • I am doing half up, with height (poof) in back of top...sparkly, beautiful headband and long side bang...hair will be in loose curls..

Both hair and make up will be Professionally done- just not 100% on who is doing it yet.  All of my BM and MOH will be doing the same (I think)..

  • Not the same hair- just meant all professionally done.  I asked that their hair be different than mine..
