Mestad's in Rochester also has a great variety of dresses in all price ranges. My dress was kind of a big deal, so it was a splurge, but I'm happy I did it. I went there with a good friend of mine to find her dress and it was $1000 and beautiful too! They have other dresses for even less than that! Check out their website for special events and trunk shows because you will get the best deals then. I did that for my dress and got a nice 20% off discount!

I was also against DB at first because I had heard some bad reviews, but then something told me to at least check it out.  So I did and I found 3 dresses that I loved all within my price range right away.  I loved them all so much that I didn't want to keep looking any more because it would only complicate things more in terms of choosing a dress so I went back and chose from the 3 I already loved and it was $350.

In re: to their 'bad reputation' I think a lot of that is because it's SUCH a big chain that they have far more customers than any other bridal store, they are bound to have some people who aren't pleased.  Plus more people are going to say something when they have a bad experience than when they have a good one, ya know?

I dont want to do DB because when I went to the Maple Grove one the service sucked. Not to be TMI but I am a 32DD, with like a 26 waist. The girl measured me and said I have a small chest for my waist...WHAT? I have to special order stuff for it to fit me right. I think I may just look there and see...but probably not the Grove one. Since they dont even know how to measure someone right.

I went to Mestad's in Rochester and they had a lot of different dresses. I ended up paying about $800 for mine (Pronovias Genova).  The salespeople were a lot nicer and more professional than the Wedding Shoppe too - when I went there I felt like I was in everyone's way, as it was so crowded.  And the salespeople seemed rushed and very clipped.

If you're interested, I don't know what size you are but I have a beautiful ivory size 10 Anjolique Wedding Dress for sale. The dress was retailed at $909.99 and was bought on sale for $688 but I was only asking $400 for it but as of right now I will take $280 for it but no lower because I need cash fast! It is in excellent condition with a couple easily fixable flaws on the beaded part (a couple loose beads which I could even fix if I tried). Beaded neckline Organza over Satin gown with V line back and three rows of beading on the back and front. The hem is also beaded. It has never been worn in a wedding just tried on.
