Harriet Island Pavillion liquor catering options.

Wedding in 45 days and need to find a beverage service for a Wedding at the Harriet Island Pavillion. the venue allows to bring in your own liquor, but requires it to be from a provider with a liquor catering license.

I have checked around a couple beverage services, but they charge per person and looks like this is going to cost big $$$ to have a full bar. Would be nice just to buy my own liquor to serve without the middleman. any other options here? anyone have any experience with this in the Twin Cities area? Thank you in advance.

A lot of girls on this board do this with the Profile Event Center, and have used bartenders from the MN School of Bartending. I guess they are pretty cheap to hire out per hour, and you can buy your own liquor for them to serve.

    musicalsunlight, thanks for the response.

my issue is that I cannot bring my own alcohol to the Harriet Island Pavillion unless they have a  liquor catering license. I believe this must be a requirement for City owned venues? This might force us to hire an outside Beverage Service company to serve the drinks rather then just bring our own alcohol and hire a bartender to serve the drinks for this. This is considerably is a more expensive option. I dont believe the Profile Event Center requires a liquor catering license just to bring the alcohol inside the building correct?

I guess I'm a little confused by what you're asking for here. If your venue says you need a licensed liquor vendor, you need a licensed liquor vendor... so the middleman is completely necessary. I guess just shop around and see which vendor is most affordable or has the most options. There are venues that allow you to bring in your own booze and hire your own bartenders (PEC and the Historic Courthouse are the first to come to mind...) but if you already chose one that doesn't allow that, I guess you just have to accept it and find the best deal.

Hi! I am also looking into Harriet Island. What did you find out/decide on the liquor caterer? Thanks! Erin
  • Hi!

We are having our wedding and are also looking for recomadtions on where/how to get a liquor caterer.

Let me know if you find anything.

  • Did you ever find any options? ? I'm getting married there next fall. We'd love to find a vendor who can provide the hard liquor and wine and we'll bring in the beer.
