Skin

What do you use to keep your face looking flawless? What treatments do you have done (facials, microdermabrasiom, etc), if any?

I'm so stressed that I can't stop breaking out and then stress even more because I'm breaking out like a lil' girl going through puberty ;)

Let's get a list started!!!!

TIA

I've heard great things about Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque - Clicky!  I found out about it from one of the blogs I follow.  She raved about it & said she has been using it for years.  Her face looks amazing, so I figured at that price it was totally worth buying & trying!

It's supposed to help dry up acne pimples, rinse away blackheads & shrink enlarged pores.  I picked it up, but haven't used it yet... Planning on using it this weekend!

Otherwise I just wash my face daily, use the Target brand skin astringent & Target brand moisturizer.  = )

The mint julep mask is awesome. Walgreens carries it.  When I have the stuff for it I do the oil cleansing method.

I get facials every 6 weeks at Simonson's in Maple Grove. I usually see Christine and she has really gotten my ance under control. They use several kinds of products and they watch how your skin responds. Then they use some sort of high frequency generator to help stop anything that might come up. Then of course the lovely and sometimes quite painful extraction of the breakouts you do have but they heal a lot faster once they get the infection out and it won't leave a scar if they do it.

When I was in high school I saw a dermatologist and she prescribed me an antibiotic and a couple face creams. Now I just notice that I break out when seasons change and joke that my face can tell when winter's coming :-P

Now I use a face scrub and use a light moisturizer pretty much daily. That's kept breakouts at bay, plus evened out my skin tone and people always think I'm wearing foundation. Neutrogena products have always worked really well for me :-) Also, The Body Shop's Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish is a good exfoliating face wash.

Ugh I am in your same boat Bridget.  I started using this great routine by L'athene in the mornings and before bed, and added clindamycin in the mornings and retin-a micro at night.  Then my derm NP gives me Jessner peels every month or so... its clearing up, slowly but surely.  I am AMAZED by how much stress affects my skin!!!

If all else fails...... airbrushed makeup!!!!!!  :)
