extensions

Has or is anyone doing hair extensions for there wedding? I want to do them but have never done it before. I dont wanna do a clip in I dont think... Very unsure right now!! Just wanna get some feed back on them and see if they are worth it. I have shoulder length hair now and it would be also for volume.

    I've had a few different kinds, fusion, weave, clip ins.  I have to say the clip in ones are the most convenient and they don't put strain on your head, sometimes the other kinds can give you a headache, is itchy etc.  The clip ins are nice cause you can wear them whenever you want.  They are also wayyy less expensive then ones that are glued in etc.

    I had some in for my engagement pictures in my bio, and I too use them more so for volume.  Oh and you can also cut them if need be.  Let me know if any questions on all types!

    I used 2 sets of clip-ins for my wedding and LOVED them. I use a single set now most days for volume.  I also went to Maude Salon who works a ton with extensions as well. Jen there dyed my hair and my extensions to match.  Mine were $75 and $110 for 2  different length clip-ins (single long set with 4 clips). My own family could not tell I had them but couldn't figure out why my hair looked so good.

    Wow these clip ins sound awesome.  I would think they wouldn't be the best but it is interesting that they seem to be preferred.  Hmm...

    My SIL is a stylist and we plan on doing the fusion ones in my hair about 3 weeks before the wedding.  But now I'm thinking about the clip ins!  Haha.

    I talked to my stylist about them.  She told me not to get the sewn in ones.  In my case my hair is super fine (absolutly no texture) and pretty thin and she told me the sewn in ones do a lot of damage to your hair when they are removed and since my hair damages easily she told me not to do it.  She recommended clip in ones.  But I guess it depends on how your hair is and whether or not they would damage your hair.

    I've worn the clip in ones for about 4 months now. It's nice becuase I take them out at night - so no pulling and stuff. And I don't wear them much on weekends unless we are going out.  No damage so far. I was them about once a week with regular shampoo (Get real hair not the synthetic stuff - it's awful).  Even my styllist was impressed with the quality (jon reneau I think). Seriously - best decision ever.

    There is a newer type of extension that is basically taped into your hair.  You have two pieces, each about an inch long in width, with tape on one side.  They put a small section of your hair between them and press together.  I had them in my hair (which is baby fine and there's not much of it!) for 1.5 years and there was no damage.  I've used clipins in the past, and depending on your hair texture they can slip a bit, but I think you'd be fine with either.  I'm putting extensions back in for my wedding :)

    If you want info on where I got mine, let me know.

    I bought the clip in ones for the wedding and wear them all the time now! I love them and didnt think I would. They were not that expensive either - 79.99 for a box at Sally's and I got the EuroNext ones if I remember right. I ended up dying my hair a couple weeks before the wedding so I just dyed the extensions too. It took me about 3 hours to dye them (would have been shorter if I had had help) but they turned out really well and matched my hair exactly then. I only needed one box and even now I usually dont put the entire box in and it is still enough to get a ton of volume.

    I bought some extensions at Sonny's in uptown and actually had to sew the clips on myself because they were out of the pre-sewn ones in my color! It was really easy though and once they're in your up-do (if you're having one), nobody will be able to tell!

    @sara: I ordered them online http://www.hairaddictionz.com/
    I bought a color swatch to see what color I wanted, and if you return the swatch they credit your purchase for that amount.  I can't remember how much they cost anymore but way less than professionals and real hair.  You would need a friend to put them in for you.  If you have questions, feel free to PM me :)
