Advice on an wedding/ceremony

I'm planning an outdoor ceremony and reception, both at the same location.  It's at a park and there's going to be two separate "areas" for each part.  Has anyone ever been to a wedding where the same chairs were used for both events?  If so, did guests move them or did uncles/family or professional staff, etc.?  I'm planning a picnic-ish reception, so sitting on blankets will be encouraged.  However, I know some of the older guests (and maybe the more traditional guests) will want seats and I can't decide if it's tacky to use the same for both events.  Also, the size of the guest list is already approaching 300 (eek) so it's not the matter of just a few seats.  ANY advice at all would be greatly appreciated!P.S. This is unrelated, but is it "legal" to sell a wedding dress on here?

Hi Kmr -I've never seen it done personally but I know of several venues that will "flip" a room and use the same room for the reception as the ceremony. I assume they use the same chairs, too. I personally wouldn't have the guests do it as I would be afraid it would create too much chaos (especially with that many people) but I would inlist uncles/relatives/groomsmen/ushers/etc. to help move all of the chairs. I would make sure the guests were in another area while this was done (but again, I just hate the feeling of "chaos" so you could do it either way! :-) ). One way you could "differentiate" the chairs is to use chair covers at the reception or ceremony and then not at the other. The only downside to this is that, we, too, arehaving a large wedding, so I know they can add up quickly! Also, if you did that, you'd probably want someone from the company to put the covers on for you as that can take a lot of extra time. Are you "doing" anything between the reception/ceremony (cocktail hour, lawn games, pictures, etc.)?As for the dress, as long as you're not a retailer/private business and you're wanting to sell your own dress, that is allowed. Just marked the heading as "FS" to indicate the post is a listing for an item up for sale. You can post it here, "The Dress" board or any other board you frequent.Good luck!
