Survey: How much were your invites?

How much did you spend on your invites, exlcuding postage?

Did you DIY or order them through a company? (if through a company, which one?)

How many invites did you make/order?

My BFF is trying to decide if a quote she's gotten for invites is a good deal and I'm trying to figure out how much I should budget for my own! lol :-)

Thanks!

I ended up spending about $5/invite.  That included:  Invite, Details Card, RSVP, and envelope.   We ordered 125.
I had them custom designed on etsy --- I paid extra for a map to be created for the details card and she designed a graphic for me (which was also extra).

I read a similar post on another wedding-related board and it seemed like the average was around $3/invite.

I am in the process of DIY'ing my envelopes - PIB.

The price for paper, printing, RSVP cards, envelopes, stamps, RSVP stamps, etc, EVERYTHING is looking to be around $150.  We are mailing around 80 envelopes, but preparing around 100 to account for mistakes and scrapbooking.  So less than $1.50 each.

I had a friend design them for me, and we are having them printed as a 5x7 panel at FedEx Office (this was FI idea, since he works for FedEx, he thought we could get a good dicount. As it turns out, it was so reasonably priced we didn't even need a discount to help make our decision!) They are printing on extra heavy cardstock and cutting to size our 150 invites for about $20. We are purchasing 150 envelopes from xpedx store for about $7 and I am having response postcards printed through vistaprint in a matching design for about $25.
They won't be really fancy but I feel like they look good and I am on a tight budget so I am THRILLED that we will have 150 invites, including postage, for about $100.

We are DIYing ours.  We ordered all the paper supplies and envelopes from cardsandpockets.com and will be printing and cutting everything ourselves.  The total cost for 110 invitations was about $225, so roughly $2 apiece.  That includes a pocketfold, the invitation itself, 2 enclosures, RSVP postcards, envelopes, and ribbon.

One note though - printing, cutting, and assembling really do take A LOT of time, so if that's an issue you might want to steer clear of the DIY route.

I bought the Brides DIY damask invites from Micheals.  I bought each set one at a time to use coupons, and ended up spending about $70 for 90 invites (includes everything).  They were originally about $120 for all 3!  My aunt is printing them for me b/c she is crafty.  I ordered my STD's from vistaprint and adress lables for those and spent about $40 w/ shipping.  I haven't bought stamps yet, but I think a roll is $40ish and I will am sending around 70-80 invites and STD's.  My invites are very classy, but I hardly spent anything on them.  I would rather spend money on other things rather than paper!!
    *edited b/c I said 140 and meant 70 invites!

Ours were $409 (including shipping) for 131 invitations. I thought that was a pretty reasonable price. I ordered them through Etsy.
