How did you meet your FI?

What does your dress look like? Pic please if you have one!

Favorite food?

First dance song?

Any pets?

Re: *KOTW kellieinkc*

  • OMG yay! :)

Ok, I met my FI in high school. We graduated together but never dated. In fact, I hung out with his sister more than I did with him. :)

I'll get a picture of the dress when I get to work. It's an Essence of Australia and I adore it!

My favorite food is anything Mexican. I think our first dance will be Elton John, I forget the name of it but it's the one that goes "how wonderful life is while you're in the world..."

We have 3 cats, all shelter rescues. They're my babies and I heart them. :)

I have 3 cats too. They were "rescued" from farms though. I worked with rescue/stray dogs through Ray of Hope, so I'm a big fan of rescue animals, but my H won't let me have anymore! :-)
  • That song is called "Your Song" and I loove that one too, I was thinking of using it too but Ellie Goulding's rendition. Don't think FI likes it though, he wants Metallica lol

What about your BMs? How many and do you have their dresses?

    Are you doing any DIY?

Where are you going on your HM?

I've got a rescue dog and my FI won't let me get any more either! :(

    Back to our KOTW!

    Where's the wedding?

What color are the bridemaid's dresses? Pic?

What did you and your FI do on your last 'date night'?

  • We have one cat, and she was a "rescue," too, if you'd call it that. Justin's little sister worked at a Taco Bell during high school and saw a kitten sitting by the dumpster one day!

That's the cat today that jumps in bed and walks over me at 3 a.m. in the middle of the night. Tongue Out
  • YES Cat! "Your Song!" I remembered that after I posted it, of course. Bah. LOL.

Kelley, I just started volunteering with TARA. It's incredibly rewarding and I love it!

I have 3 BMs and a MOH. I don't know what their dresses will look like yet but they'll be red. Actually, that's not entirely true. I *do* know what their dresses will look like; I just can't find them in a price range I like! Half of my girls are single moms and I just can't bring myself to make them pay $250 for a dress. But here's an idea of what I like:

Only in red. The boys are wearing their Class A dress blues (Marine Corps; oohrah!)

    This is my dress:

I love it. I absolutely adore it. It's so me. :)

The wedding will be at Pilgrim Chapel, which is perfect for our wedding size. And we just booked the event space at Nara, 1617 for the reception. YAY! Most of our guests will be from out of town and they have a fantastic view of the skyline, which we wanted, so we can show off KC to the Ohioans. :)

Our last date night was on Friday; we went up to Parkville and went to Wines by Jennifer, then to River Bend to hear some live music. We LOVE live music. It's the best. And the guy was really good; he kind of looked and sounded like a young Bruce Springsteen, only a little more blues-y. Good good stuff!

  • Your dress is very pretty! Did you get it in that color too? I love wedding dresses in other colors besides white!
  • No, I got it in the "platinum" color (which isn't nearly as dark as it sounds; it's just a silvery white). But I love non-white wedding dresses too!
  • How many people are invited?

What did you get for your bridemaid's gifts or plan on getting them?

  • We have about 80 people invited, but because of the out of town numbers, we expect about 50.

I'm hoping to get them vintage broches to pin on their dresses, but we'll see. I can always go with a bottle of vodka, LOL!

Instead of a bottle, you should get the garter and flask combo, so they can carry with them!lol Both sound like a great gift!!
  • There's a garter and flask combo? How did I not know about this? ROFL!
  • Yeah, it's a cute gift and a very cute photo opp. I'm getting my girls a necklace to wear but I'm sure a few of them would get a kick out of wearing this!lol

    This one is from Etsy.

    That's very cute!

Kellie: I got vintage brooches from antique shows to put on our bouquets, I think I spent $40 on 7 or 8 of them. I went to Weston, MO for most of them.
