April 2013 Weddings

More RSVP woes

Well, I started the day with 55 guests unaccounted for.  Now I have 44 unknowns.  "Must call" lists were distributed and now I play the waiting game.  I asked one friend if he was coming and his response was "When is it?  Where is it?" and then he said he was coming.  I had another friend who "brain farted" with the RSVP and he's coming.  I had another friend coming from Canada who forgot to mention that he bought tickets yesterday but that's oaky because I'm super excited to see him.  Then, I had another friend who asked if she could bring someone with her, ughhh.  That's up to three plus one requests.  If we have room for them, they can come but I'm having a hard time managing the anxiety of this stupid waiting game.  Gaaahhh...make up your minds and be responsive, people!!

Re: More RSVP woes

  • 44!! That is a lot!!

I am having the opposite problem as you, we invited every single person with a guest and maybe 4 total are bringing someone. We won't reach our minimum and I want to call these people and tell them to please bring someone!!

  • Lol, you want some of my guests?  Part of me feels extremely loved but the other part of me feels extremely irritated, lol.  I'm SO CONFLICTED!!!  By the end of the evening, I got it down to 40 people.  Hopefully I will hear from the last of my 8 guests tomorrow.  I might have to crack the whip on the moms and task them with calling their friends and family.  My mom only has about three people to call but FMIL has like all of the rest!

FMIL has a lot of OOT people, and she kept saying just assume NO for all of them. 1. I am not going to assume anything anymore, because I assumed most of my guests could come but A LOT will be gone that weekend and 2. These people are freaking adults and should have enough common sense to RSVP. These are the same ones that didn't respond at all to the shower. Yes, please send me some of your guests!

  • Haha, you got it!  I've got some from Michigan, I'm sure they'd be thrilled with a shorter trip :-)
  • Our best man still doesn't know if his two children (our ringbearers) will be at the reception. Our numbers are due Friday. Eeesh. Fortunately, we're coming in above our minimum, but under where we thought we would be. Still waiting on those two kids and two other couples' responses.
  • I've gotten rsvp back from less than 40% of my people. I had planned on more people not attending. It is going to be tight at the venue if it keeps going like this. Only 5% have said no.
    My deadline is Tuesday. Grrrr

  • I'm with vk - I gave all our single friends +1s and NONE of them used it!  I have 12 single ladies and one single guy coming to the wedding.  We landed under our minimum, but the venue is more about the "food revenue" so we just added on a dessert bar :)

  • I seem to go down by 11 each day!  I posted this at 55, then I had 44, now 33 lol.
