Finally went dress shopping last week. I took my mom and our single groomsmaid (Fiance's best friend, and only female in the wedding party- I'm having my two brother as my bridesmen). I was really nervous about taking my mom- we have very different styles, she tends to be very opinionated and negative, and we're still on thin ice from a big fight a few weeks ago.
But things went fabulously! Mom and I didn't agree 100%, but did much better than I thought we would. I went in thinking strapless/sweetheart neckline, sheath silhouette, and lace or satin rouching. Turns out the ones I loved online didn't look as good on me. So I ended up with something totally different, but also kinda the same.

The only thing I didn't love about this dress was the beading on the waistline. So we decided to cover it up with a champagne colored sash- which happened to fix a dilemma I was having!
For colors, I was trying to work with my fiance's favorite color and mine- red and purple. But I wasn't sure how to make it work, or if it was too bold for an April wedding. So now we've decided that our groomsmaid will wear champagne, and accent with red. So our colors will be red and champagne with a few hints of purple. And I feel much better about that! So... yay!
