Canal Streetcar Route... please help!

Hi ladies!  I am envisioning being able to ride the Canal Street Line from the French Quarter side, to City Park.  I see from the routes online (http://www.norta.com/Files/Route_PDFs/47-48_Canal%20streetcar_web.pdf) that the purple route will take me INTO City Park, where the Museum is located.  Since I have never been to City Park, I need your help as locals.  Is this area (at the end of the purple route) going to be easily accessible for my small wedding party to walk around and find a pretty spot for the ceremony?  I'm simple in that I want a nice outdoor spot, with mossy trees and a little area for 10-20 of us to stand while we have a quick little ceremony.  Do you think this area will work for what I want?   OR, should we take taxis so we can find a more suitable area, and have the ability to drive around in search of said area?  Thanks!!!

My fiance is familiar with the route so I will ask him...if I forget direct a pot to my attention to remind me.

Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.

I would suggest the St Charles Ave streetcar to Audubon park instead. The streetcar lets off right at the front entrance to the park. There are stunning fountains and live oaks-- tons of amazing photo ops. Its a much easier trip than the Canal line and it takes your guests through some stunning areas. I know a lot of locals have used Audubon for ceremonies. Also, there won't be nearly as much walking for your guests as City Park (City Park is larger than nyc's Central Park and as a current New Orleanian and former New Yorker, I can tell you, it's BIG) I would contact the park as well because you can have a designated area for your ceremony and I think the permit is super super cheap- like less than $50.
