how do i estimate guests

if we are inviting 150 guests, how many should we assume are going to come?
Isn't there a rule something along the lines of figure only half of your invited guests will show?

Plan your budget, venue, and purchases based on the assumption that all will come.  People have extremely high attendance rates sometimes.  In reality, you're probably more likely to get 75-80% but don't count on that.  It would suck to end up over your head or over capacity because everyone came.

Make sure your budget and venue can accommodate the number of people you invite.  For everyone with 50% attendance there is someone else with 100% attendance!
