Catlin Gardens

Hello, I wanted to take a poll of those who have gotten married at Caitlin Gardens in Slate Hill, NY or are planning to get married there Or even just considered it and got price quotes.  Was anyone able to negotiate with them?  Would you be willing to share the price quotes that they gave you or what you paid per head and for which package?  TIA!

I am getting married there next month (holy cow! Thats weird to say).  I did not even try to negotiate the price, so I cannot help you with that.  I also went with the middle package (which is $128 per person without tax and grat).  I also did go with a Saturday evening wedding (so I am paying for that time slot).  They have a lower package, but if you want Friday or Sunday or Saturday afternoon they have two lower packages (I do not know the prices of those off the top of my head).

I was lucky enough that my mom was helping with the price.  We knew walking around Catlin that we HAD to have it there.  We saw other places but they were not as perfect for us.  I suggest you go and have a tour.  I would been suggest going to one of the tasting (it is like 30 per person, and you do not have to have booked with them to go to the tasting).  It is two hours of NON stop eating.  So you can taste the food before you even book with them (which is what we did).  We signed directly after the food tasting.

Depending on the size of your wedding (ours will be aout 75), they are opening an inn in July.  We have an appt to view on July 3rd.  Really excited about it.  Don't know pricing yet.  I've heard excellent things about venue.

I think when i booked there was a 100 person minimum,so you may want to just double check that, you will love it there, they are so nice & very helpful, the place is beautiful.I cannot say that one thing went wrong on my wedding day they went the extra mile to make sure everything was just how i wanted it.

I am getting married in 2 & 1/2  weeks and they just told us yesterday that the Inn (we had 23 rooms booked, besides our own room) would not be open for our wedding.  Plus the place has lost is beauty and looks like a construction site!  Prior to this issue I would have recommended this place to anyone, but now I'm not too sure.  They tried to assure me yesterday that the place would look better by my wedding, but they also told me that the inn would be finished and even took reservations!  We had also planned for an after party and a brunch which will now no longer happen.  They are trying to be accomodating but for the price I am paying, this is not how I envisioned my dream wedding to be.  It is a nightmare.
