Hi ladies! my fiance and i need just got engaged and we are trying to find a rustic place in the detroit area to have our wedding. we want to do a farm/barn/country style wedding. Im finding this difficult, weve found places in ann arbor but its just a little farther than I would like.

Any Ideas?

How rustic are you thinking?  What about at a campground, metro part, or state park?

Take a look at canterbury village for a rustic ceremony....we are getting married in their 100 year old barn converted into a chapel...it's beautiful! Good Luck!!

one of my girl friends got married at Canterbury village in that barn, it was gorgeous!!! I just dont want to copy her.

I havnt really thought of the campground idea, not a bad idea, I would just have to rent everything and fined a cateerer, Im just trying to decided if its worth going through all the trouble or finding a place where everything is included.

I've been to a wedding at 'Wellers' in Ann Arbor. It was so pretty!! The reception was in a barn-style building and the outdoor area surrounding was beautiful! I showed up after dinner so I don't know how the food is, but it's worth checking out if that's what you're looking for.
