Amelias Bridal or La Petite Boutique

Can anyone tell me your experiences with either of these places? I'm planning on getting bridesmaid dresses at one.

My good friend got her bridal gown at Amelia's and she swears by them.
She said the person who did her fittings was absolutely amazing.
Also, my mom got her dress for my brother's wedding at Amelia's and was very happy as well.

I have never been to La Petite so I can't compare, but I do like Amelia's.

All my bridesmaids ordered there dresses from Amelias and I purchased a bridesmaid dress from there as well about 2 years ago. They are great! Maria is so sweet. I havent had any issues with them.
I have never heard of La Petite so i have no comparision.

Amelia's gets recommended on here quite a bit, but I've never been there.

When I was looking for bridesmaid dress designers (I was searching for the perfect color) I did go to La Petite Boutique. They are in Pleasantville and they were really sweet and helpful. They don't offer bridal gowns, only bridesmaids and moms, so that's probably why they don't get mentioned on here much. But they were great when I went in.

Where did you get your bridal gown and did you look there for bridesmaids?

LOVE LOVE LOVE Amelia's.  I have ordered my dress and my girls' dresses there, and Maria is a doll.  Very accomidating, polite and professional.

I do NOT recommend Amelia's at all.  My mom selected a dress there last year and put a deposit down, but was going to call in the color because she wanted to check with the bride first.  (It was for my brother's wedding.)  The dress was not ordered because the color was not chosen.  The next day my brother called and said the wedding was off.  My mom called Amelia's and they would not give my mom back her deposit because the order had been placed.  That was absolutely not the case because there was a note on the slip saying she'd call with the color.  My mom tried to have her credit card drop the charge and they ended up not doing so because Ameila's told them the dress was ordered and picked up!!!!!!!!!!!  At the time of all this I got engaged.  Needless to say I did not get my dress there nor did my 8 bridesmaids, my mom, his mom or his step mom.

I will also add that my friend got her bridal gown there and they did not do the alterations how they said they did.  Her strap kept falling down (and no it was not due to weight loss) and the bustle was messed up.  My friend was extremely happy that I have been in 8 weddings and I was able to get her bustle to look like it was supposed to with the help of giant safety pins.

I will say Maria was nice when we were first in there and I'm glad many had good expeiences, but I cannot in good conscience not share my mom's experience there.
