We had a photo guest book but it was pictures of us from our engagement session not our guests.
I have heard of people having a photobooth and printing 2 copies of the pictures 1 for the guest to keep and 1 that gets glued into a guest book for people to sign.
glbardsley-I love that idea! Could you find out the type of camera she used? I've heard that Polaroid cameras and film are no longer being made, so I'd be interested in an affordable alternative. TIA
We're having a photo booth... it's not cheap. We talked the guy down from nearly 1500 for 4 hours to 800 for 2 hours (I figure it's not necessary to have it all night). It's an additional 100 to get a guest book through them and an extra set of prints. This was the item that broke our budget. But, my dad wanted it more than anyone, and he offered to throw in the extra cash, which is the only reason we decided to go with it. It just seems like it'll be really fun. I saw it at a bridal expo and people were lining up to have their photo taken. So, at a wedding it should add some fun!
When we were thinking of ways to get around paying for it, you could have a polaroid on a tripod set up to take photos. Or another option is to set up a laptop with a webcam on it and people can take photos that way... then after a certain amount of time, you could hook up the laptop to a slide show projector and show those photos?
yeah we also did the guest sign in book with our e pics. Instead of a photo being taken of each one. I figured I will put some disposables on the tables and we have a shutterfly page to have them add thier digital photos to. You can do the cameras with the print dock stations may take some time though? Just a thought. Or just have photographer take table pictures. I personally like those! Then you knew who sat with who especially if you dont have assigned seating!
We're getting a guest book with our E-pics in it for our guests to sign. It's nice because it'll double as a nice book of our e-pics.
When my best friend got married a couple years ago, she had someone taking Polaroids when guests got to the reception. Once your picture was taken, you put it in the book and wrote a message to the couple. The one thing I liked about it was that my roommates from college and I were all able to be in the same picture and write in the same area. The thing I didn't like...it really held up getting into the reception.
Fuji Instax is an instant film camera, very similar to polaroid. There is even a camera/photo guestbook combination pack that you can buy on theknot.com!!! If you go to the wedding shop, search for "fuji instax" and it should come up. I am debating between using this and a coffee table book as my guestbook. Good luck!
Look up polaroid pogo. They came out with a digital version of the old polaroids that prints the pic on the spot about $200 for the camera and I'm not sure how much for the film. They also came out with a polaroid pogo printer that you can connect your digital camera to and print without inks or toners its all in the paper. The paper costs $10 for 10 sheets or $13 for 30. Both the paper and the film for the camera have the peel off sticky backs! http://www.polaroid.com/Products/Polaroid+PoGo/Overview
