Just saw TGC on the news...feel so bad for this weekend's brides!! So out of the 20 places that I have contacted so far between the merrimack valley area and southern NH, I have only found 1 that isn't booked for my date yet!! That would be Salvatore's it looks like a really nice place on the website, anyone ever been there or toured it? Looking for any info really...going to visit it this weekend. I left messages at a few places, so crossing my fingers I get a few more options!!!

The food is great, huge portions. It's got a very Italian vibe going, so you might have to consider that when picking decor. Also, for the after party you're like a one minute drive from the Claddagh in Lawrence. Hope it works out!

I have never been to the function space but the resturaunt downstairs has excellent food.

Arez, I've heard good things about the new place at Merrimack Valley golf course- Boxwood.

salvatore's is lovely. food is wonderful, nice (but very italian) ambiance in the restaurant itself. the function rooms are great as well. we had the mercy meal after my grandmother's funeral in the largest space, and it was affordable, the food was delish, and the staff is excellent. they have a few different rooms and menus. i'm kicking myself because i literally just tossed the info folder from them over the weekend (we were considering it for the RD). the room we were in had massive floor to ceiling (25') windows over the river and it was a beautiful sunny day. the other room we looked at had a more industrial loft feel. i haven't been there since march of 08 (in a function room), but I remember thinking it was really like a blank canvas that could take on any look, basically. the river views are great. let me know if you have any more questions! Hi.............have you looked at the Lanam Club in Andover? I have heard good reviews, menues and prices are on the website, if they are available

Thanks for the info livandrich! 2gr8tkidz- thanks but I need a venue that accommodates at least 250. Here's to hoping I get 4 phone calls today! And taking any other suggestions!

The Merrimack Country Club is AMAZING! they just opened in June and I am in love with it. They can hold up to 180 in their ballroom and it's very modern with hardwood floors and chivari chairs. They are running great specials right now since it just opened. I have all of the sales and catering info if you want it. Good Luck!

If this the "new" (2 years or so old) Sal's pizza that has a view of the river? If so it is REALLY nice and they have very reasonable prices. It was our second choice, and the only reason we picked the Crowne Plaza is because we wanted to be able to go right up to our rooms without worrying about driving. But the view is a knock-out and their food is good old Italian  - hard to screw up. One of my friedns had her bridal shower there and they did a very nice job. I would say this is def a good find for you - I think not that many people have heard of it which is why they still have the date open. GL!

Thanks for the info on the Merrimack Valley Country Club, but 180 is too small.....I need a room for at least 250 people.... I have appointments book for 2 other places so far
