Artistic Blossoms

Hi Ladies,I don't post on here often, but I do know that you are all very helpful when it comes to planning.  Has anyone used Artisic Blossoms out of Marshfield for their wedding?  I checked weddingwire and they have excellent reviews, but I wanted to know if anyone on here had any first hand experience with them.  Thanks!!

I am using them for my wedding next June.  Of course I haven't seen the final product yet, but I really liked Kelly went I went to meet with her.  In your initial meeting she shows you a lot of examples of her work and everything looked beautiful.  She's also been very responsive to my emails/calls and seems very organized.  Good luck!

I met with Kelly and saw her work.  I went to see our venue set up for a wedding and she was putting out the centerpieces.  They were gorgeous, so I set up a meeting with her. This is what I found:I was uneasy with the way you would book through her.  She wanted you to give a deposit before you knew what flowers you were going to get and what worked with your budget.  I knew exactly what I wanted before meeting with her, so I was disappointed she refused to quote me on those ideas since that was what I was looking for.I also think her pricing is a bit higher than other florists. She is very talented.  Her work speaks for itself.  I just couldn't get past the "not knowing" issue.  She quoted us for low and middle of the road flower arrangements but to this day I have no idea what that meant.  Carnations?  Roses?  Peonies?  We just didn't click.  I know a lot of brides were very happy with her though.  But that was my experience....

I met w/ Kelly from Artistic Blossoms and she was very nice and had a great sense of style and design when it came to wedding flowers, the only issue was that she was very expensive. With that being said I do have quite a large wedding (over 20 tables, 10 in the wedding party, parents, grandparents on both sides, etc.)and she was quite a ways from where I live, so for convenience and also cost I went with someone else. She was highly recommended by my venue and I can see why. Good Luck!

As far as Kelly's pricing goes - she gives a quote on the low end of things and the high end.  There is a HUGE difference between the two prices.  I initially wasn't that comfortable with this either, but we had a talk about the difference and she explained that she orders all of her flowers from the Boston Flower Exchange specifically for your wedding, so your price is going to reflect their prices the week before your wedding day. If you have a specific request (like you KNOW you want peonies), then your prices could be on the higher end of things, but if you are willing to say to her - I want to stick towards the lower end of things and give her a general idea of what you want, but let her go to the Flower Exchange and pick the flowers that are more in season/affordable, she can do that.  Since everything she does looks so nice I feel confident that I will just let her run with the design and that I can stay on the lower side of the budget she gave me so the pricing was ok for me.  That being said if you have a really specific idea of what flowers you want and you need an exact figure, she's probably not the right florist for you.

Thanks ladies!  This is all very helpful.  I met with her the other night and I felt like I really clicked with her, but her pricing is much higher than other quotes I have received.  So it is making me a little hesitant.

That's good that you clicked with her!  Maybe if you meet with a few other people you'll be able to make a more informed decision?  I know Jen Cahill from Tangled Web get's raves on here and her pricing is pretty good.  I ended up securing Gale Barton from Sweetferns.  Just other options for you.  I know Gale has raves on weddingwire as well, I assume Jen does as well.  Otherwise, I'm sure you're in great hands with Kelly.  GL!

kmt, I wanted to look into Gale as well.  She is on the preferred vendor list at my venue.  Does she have competitive pricing?

Very competitive, IMO.  She has been wonderful for us.  I really can't say enough about her!

I had the same exact experience as KMT. I wanted to know how much she was going to charge instead of a range, so that kind of threw me off. The quotes she gave me were far more expensive than other florists that I looked at, and that was before I even told her exactly what I had in mind for flowers., which brings me to another problem I had during our meeting. I felt like I couldnt get a word in! I knew what I wanted and she just kept saying that I don't know what I want yet because it is too early. Nope, I wanted peonies then, and I want peonies now! hahaI ultimately went with Jen Cahill from the Tangled Web in Pembroke, and she is amazing! Her prices are affordable, and she is just a nice person who "gets" what your saying. I looked through all of her books and was highly impressed with her work, and she gets great reviews on here and on wedding wire. Can't wait to use her in June! Good luck with the search!

I also looked at Sweetferns and Tangled Web, but they were already booked for my date :(  That's what I get for picking a Saturday in June I guess...

Pinker your flowers will be beautiful!  I know what you mean as far as booking in June though.  So frustrating sometimes!

kmt_cas, that's funny, I met with only 2 florists, and they were Artistic Blossoms and Gale @ Sweetferns and I did the same thing. I felt more comfortable with Gale and booked her just a couple weeks ago!

I can not say enough good things about Kelly. She was exactly on budget - I gave her a middle not to exceed budget and she totally got my daughters vision in a 30 minute meeting. My daughter wanted peonies in December and she figured out how to make it happen without going over the budget. Try giving her a budget and ask her to come up with a style and cost plan. I don't think you can make a mistake with her.
