**Spuccio**

I was just looking at your wedding website (again) and once again got teary-eyed over your breath-taking moments.  Ahhh.  So beautiful :)

Anyhow, I wanted to ask you about your DIY flowers.  We are also DIYing it and were considering ordering from Sams Club.  I noticed on your website you mentioned hand picking them and getting some from a farm.  Can I ask where you got them?  or if you would recommend getting them from a farm, or wholesale flower place, etc?  Trying to figure out the best route to go for DIY flowers without going over budget too much (and not getting stressed too much).

Thanks again !

Awww, thanks! :-) Its nice to know that someone besides me and my husband get teary eyes over the photos. Thanks--youre sweet.

So DIY flowers. My venue was a rented farmhouse on a organic farm, so we had the option to purchase flowers from the farm. 25 bucks for a 5 gallon bucket stuffed full. :-) But that said, we also used two extra buckets of flowers that my mom picked herself at a family farm near home in NJ. Depending on the time of year, you can usually find pick your own flower farms that will let you fill up giant buckets for cheap.

You will get the most for your money if you go for seasonal, local flowers. No tulips in september or sunflowers in may. Wholesale flower dealers are still pretty expensive, but I've known brides that have gone with Sams Club and been pleased.

My advice would be to phone your local farms or visit farmers markets months before your wedding. You might be surprised how much enthusiasm you receive if you reach out to these family farms. If you promise them some credit (like maybe a card in the program that reads: Enjoy these beautiful flowers grown at nearby Suchandsuch Farm), and the promise of business, they might be more than happy to make it happen for you.

Let me know if you have any other questions :-)

    Great, thanks!
I will definitely reach out to some local farms in the spring then.  We're getting married August 20th, so that should give us a good amount of time to reach out to farmers willing to work with us.  I have no clue how much it would be to go local as opposed to ordering through sams (which would have been around 700) but it definitely makes sense that local flowers would be more afforadable.  I would love to have an opportunity to fill a bucket of flowers for a set price - awesome!  That's lucky!

Thanks again for your help :)

I can almost guarantee it would be less than 700. Probably more like 100-200. But the trade off is that you won't be able to control what you get. At the end of August you will probably get what we did: sunflowers, dahlias, snapdragons, black eyed susans, queen annes lace, zinnias, celosia, and probably a variety of interesting greenery.

But with a bright color scheme like yours, with yellows, I think a multi-colored floral palette would look stunning. But then again, I am biased :-)

I agree, I think multi-color would be very pretty (and easy with yellow!).
I really just googled all of those flowers and they are all gorgeous, I love them.  And I am impressed that you knew the names of them all :)  I'm not a very picky flower person, just know that I want a ton of them, so I am definitely going to look into this local route.

You rock AND...I'm also obsessed with those earrings to boot!
