thank you's for parents

we're planning to get both sets of parents a photo album w/wedding pics, but as everyone knows, this gift won't be done until after our wedding, therefore, is it OK to hold off on the thank you cards for our parents until we give them their gifts or do we have to give them thank you cards before the wedding?

We plan to also give parent albums, but since the actual giving will have to be held off, we also intend on giving thank you cards either with "gift appreciation to come" or something really small with them, at the rehersal dinner.

Thanks Tania.  I went to Things Remembered and bought 2 8x10 frames and had them both engraved w/our names and date of our wedding.....
