Tower Hill Botanic Garden - Boylston, MA

Hi All:

Has anyone visited or had their wedding held at Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, MA? Or does anyone know the general pricing information for this venue? I have tried to research this, but have come up with very little. I e-mailed the event coordinator there, but am waiting to hear back. Just trying to get a rough estimate and some opinions.

Thank you!

Ha, you beat me to it!  i was going to link to Leah's photos.  The place is gorgeous!!!  We went there for a flower show and it is just beautiful!  It was too far for us, but I'm so jealous of anyone who gets married there!  Sorry, my post isn't really helpful to you.

it may be getting renovated, I haven't been there, but pretty sure my FI is doing some paint work there (he's owns a commercial/industrial painting company) so they may just be taking time to get back to you due to renovations? (hearing botanical garden throws me off as to where the paint is going though LOL, I'm going to ask when I get home.. )

Hi - I looked into having my wedding here because the setting is gorgeous - the fee was $4800 for a Saturday night the summer, which includes use of the Orangerie (beautiful!) and tables and chairs for the reception.  The fee did not include linens, chairs for the ceremony, and catering.  We chose not to have our wedding here because they lock you into only one catering company, and you can't bring in your own liquor (the venue provides alcohol and charges on a consumption basis per drink).  For that high of a fee I would have preferred more flexibility.  Part of the grounds were undergoing renovations when I visited (they are adding a second building to the main museum/facility), but the renovations are expected to be completed this year so if you are planning a wedding for next spring or summer you should be fine.  Hope that helps you!

I looked into Tower Hill, we loved it as well.  The price was $4800 just for the room rental and the only allow a "choice" of one caterer which is Peppers fine food.  They say they will work with any price range which is a LIE.  We had booked Tower Hill and called the caterer cause we could not get ahold of them no matter how hard we tried and we were told they would work with our budget we were informed they cheapest meal option was around $80 per person! To me that is not any budget.  When I called Tower Hill about this because they told me not to worry about the caterer when we booked and that we needed to book ASAP they said $80 per person is cheap which to me it is not especially when you look at the fact that you have to pay $4800. We had to leave them.  We both felt like they took advantage of us telling us not to worry about the catere, not giving us a choice of caterer, telling us we really really should sign since we wanted a specific date even though we couldnt get ahold of the caterer and after all of that we lost $500 and we only had a contract with them for less than a month! It was nsane.

I was also told the fee was likely to go up for 2012 and they could not hold the price it is currently.

We looked into Tower Hill as well. The space is gorgeous and they were renovating the exterior of the greenhouse this summer. Its going to look even more amazing after the renovations are done. We decided against it because of the maximum capacity, the lack of air conditioning and because we didn't want our ceremony to begin so late in the evening. But the space is amazing. The rental price goes down if you decide to get married on a weekday or a Sunday. Good luck!

I'm getting married at Tower Hill next September. Judy the event coordinator has been wonderful so far. They do lock you into one cater, Pepper's Fine Foods, they are pretty expensive, but the food is AMAZING. $80 per person is the lower end menu they offer, which is actually pretty cheap for wedding food, unless your looking at low quality caterers your not going to find a better value.

The rental fee at Tower Hill is $4800 for Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Their contract comes with a lot of restrictions, but the location and beauty of the venue makes it all worth it! This is not a venue for people on a low budget, the food and venue alone will cost you about $20K!
  • We want to have our ceremony only at Tower Hill and I am trying to book that now.  The pricing for the ceremony depends on the amount of guests you have ($700.00 - $1000.00).  I'll tell you it hasnt been easy to get a date. Judy is gone and I get different answers from each person I speak to.  One said I can book, the next said that for ceremony only I could not get a date until 4months before if there are any left.....  we discussed eloping last night cause it has been so hard to get answers and work with Tower Hill... unfortunately so.... because I love visiting there and it really is my dream spot.
