Premarital Counseling Program that is non-religious?

Hi guys,

I am hoping to find a local (Boston, North Shore or NH area) premarital counseling program. Something similar to the programs that most churches have...but secular in nature. Anyone know of anything local?

Thanks!

  • Maria,

If you are simply looking to do some preparatory counseling work that isn't focused on a faith based perspective, I'd recommend working with a couples therapist.   Lots of them have experience in preparing couples for marriage.  A good, faith-based curriculum will focus mostly on communication style etc., which is absolutely work that can be done with a couples therapist not through a faith lens.

    Good luck!

    Best,

    Heidi
  • Not sure if you still need information but I do know of a resouce for non-religious pre-marital counseling. I can recommend a woman I recently started working with in West Boylston. The place is call Counseling for Change and Transition, her name is Carol. Ricchion (not sure of spelling) I heard about her through a family member who worked with her perviously.I think if you searched on line you could find her. Pre-marital counseling is a really good idea and kinda fun too so far. Hope this helps, good luck.
