Trouble finding DJ

We're getting married in the Boston area and are having the hardest time finding/choosing a DJ. We called one of the DJ's that was a "preferred vendor" that our venue gave us, and we're overly impressed. I know choosing a DJ is a big deal as a bad one might kill the mood of the wedding haha! Does anyone have any suggestions for DJ's they really liked at their wedding in our area? Thanks so much!!

How much did you want to spend on a DJ?

We used DJ Imho from Ramu and the Crew and LOVED them! They provide an all-inclusive package for a great price - uplighting, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception sound system and music, plasma screens and more. We got sooo many compliments on the music and his MC skills in general. You know the party was amazing when every last pair of flip flops were taken because all the ladies were killing it on the dance floor!! :o)

Hey there! I just got married on 9/10/11 and used DJ JoeyDee from Johnston, RI.  He was AWESOME!   He mixes also, which is so cool. He played good song after good song, which made me miss going to some tables because I couldn't stop dancing!  He was the best, even had him stay an extra hour.  His email is mixologyentertainment@cox.net.  Let me know if you need any further info.

We're using NuImage, they are AMAZING!  The best weddings I have been to have been NuImage weddings.

I booked NuImage for my wedding too and am so excited to have them. Just like DirtyWater said, the weddings I've been to that had everyone dancing all night was with NuImage.

Have to agree with NuImage!  They are pricey, but they are worth it!  We've been to a couple weddings with them and there is definately a difference in the way they are able to keep the party going and everyone engaged.

Thank you so much everyone! I will certainly look into everybodys suggestions!! It's so stressful booking a DJ, so referrals really help.

We used John Cristoferi and recommend him 100%! He's laid back, plays the music YOU want to hear, isn't "showy" and was a real pleasure to work with. His website is djjohnc.com.

    Good luck!

I am actually not using a DJ.  There are two reasons.  First and foremost I am getting married at a Victorian Estate and the space is limiting.  (The location was donated- huge savings) The second reason is I cannot justify paying that crazy amount to do what I can set up in an iPod play list.  We bought a really nice BOSE speaker system (almost as much as a DJ but we can keep it after) and a microphone that can hook into it too.  My crazy friend is going to be in charge of the announcements and the music and all we have to do is give her open bar for the night.  How can you beat that?  Good Luck!

I've heard good things about DJ Tommy Sheehan based out of Boston.  Check him out :)

I am also using DJ IMHO from RaMu and the Crew.  My wedding isn't until July, so I haven't seen them in action yet, but I was very impressed by their website and our meeting with DJ IMHO.  Their package is all inclusive!  I'd suggest checking them out!

My daughter just got married yesterday and we used DJ Ken Drew.  He was extrememy reasonably priced and eveyoned danced throughout the whole reception and had a fabulous time.  We wanted a DJ that was not a "performer" and a talker but that just played great music and ahd everyone dancing  and that is exactly what we got with Ken.  He was professional, played what the bride and groom wanted, and made a very successful wedding!
