wachusett mountain or Cyprian keyes?

After looking at a bunch of venues, i have narrowed it down to Wachusett mountain and cyprian keyes in boylston.  Our wedding will be in august 2011 for 120 people.  Wachusett is cheaper and more unique but they have 3 weddings a day.  Cyprian is more traditional and a "fancier" venue, but more expensive.  Any recommendations or experiences at either of them??? Thanks!

I recently went to a wedding at Cyprian keyes and thought it was just okay (as far as the food). The bar was cash bar so that was pretty disappointing as well. And the dance floor was small. The area for cocktail hour was nice and very unique.

We got married on Mt. Wachusett at Harrington Farm. I highly recommend checking them out! Food was amazing! Haven't heard much about Mt.Wachusett as a venue besides stay away from Wachusett Villiage Inn for your guest rooms! We had rooms blocked in Leominster at the Sheraton 4 points which was really nice! Heard a lot of bad things about the Villiage inn (older part of the inn had moldy smelling rooms etc.)

I looked into Harrington but they didn't have any available dates for 2011 :(

How many people were at the wedding at Cyprian?  Just curious if the dance floor would be big enough for the size of my wedding.

Wachusett Mountain was one of my choices for my August 2010 wedding. Not sure if you've actually gone through and seen the room but there were a couple drawbacks in my opinion... First of all the room is really really dark where you have your reception. It would be a really great cozy winter wedding, but for summer I felt like it was just sort of dismal and outdated looking. But really the deal breaker was this: If you are having your reception there and it rains and you can't get married outside, you have to do in the main lobby area with a sheet up between the rest of the place (public) and your ceremony. Sort of weird. But otherwise overall it seemed good and the prices were really good. In the end I just really wanted something brighter and more summery feeling.

I am having my reception at Wachusett Villga inn... Snoangel 79 What is wrong with their guest rooms???

Some of them are in the older part of the inn and didn't smell pleasant (moldy). I did not book my overnight guests there because of it. We had our reception at Harrington Farm and that hotel is the closest one. My best friend's brother got married also at Harrington 2 years ago and they stayed at Wachusett Inn; some of the rooms are fine (newer part of the hotel) but she stayed in the older part and said it wasn't pleasant. Also check reviews on them... I didn't want to risk it for my out of town guests or stay there ourselves on our wedding night.
I would ask to see the rooms (newer and older).

I asked to see the rooms at the tasting and she only showed us the bridal suite.   I mentioned that I had heard bad reviews of the rooms online and she said they had renovated and I can request my guests stay in certain rooms... I was a little werry but we still wnated it for our reception.  What other hotels would you reccomend?

We stayed at the Sheraton Four Points in Leominster, basically to avoid the possibility of having crappy rooms! All our guests ended up with very nice rooms for under $100 a piece. I'd have to say it was the nicest hotel in the area (there are not many to choose from). It was 25 minutes from our venue. The rooms were very clean and modern.

I went to the tasting and i was impressed! But after reading some reviews on here it made me a little hesitant! So i called Missy from Wachusett and she assured me that they CAN accommodate up to 3 weddings a day but have yet to do 3 in a day, or have any planned. I think im keeping my original plans and going with Wachusett they offer many different things that i can't find elsewhere. I can't wait for the skyride!
