florist?

Has anyone used or heard of Flowers by Botticelli in Lynnfield, MA?  One of my mom's friends recommended Joe Botticelli as a florist

My grandparents live right down the road so as soon as i got engaged i stopped in to see what his prices were like (at the time it was over 1.5 years away). he told me $45 for your standard centerpiece, didnt matter how many kinds of blooms you used. i was pumped bc obviously it sounded like a great deal so i had him write the cost down on his business card and he said when i came back the price would be the same....well...a month ago i went back in to book and he looked at me like i had 5 heads when i told him the price i was expecting... even after i showed him his "quote." he told me my $45 centerpieces would cost $125.  i dont think so!

i ended up going w affairs to remember in melrose. lori is amazing and now im paying well within what i feel is fair (roses and hydrangeas). i am getting 20 beautiful centerpieces including one large one for the head table, 8 boqs, 14 bouts, 4 corsages and ceremony decorations for less then $2500

    good luck!!

Thanks for the heads up DM, that's a HUGE difference from what he had originally told you....I wonder why he denied ever telling you that, even after you had it in writing??  Did you happen to ask if his prices for std centerpieces were ever as low as $45?

Yea we did (my grandmother was with me both times) and he said "the price of flowers has gone up"...we didn't put up a fight bc I didnt want to deal with a florist who wouldn't stand by their word and left. If I remember correctly he said the average cost is now 75 which is within reason if that's the price he started with from the beginning!
