Re: Tux question

Oops I responded to the wrong question.  Sorry.
  • Even though our colors are chocolate shimmer, latte & light peach, I'm strongly against FH wearing a brown tux. I understand you think brown might be a good option given your color scheme, however, I think it'll look dated & you might regret it when you look back at your photos in a few years. The way I helped FH pick out his wedding day attire is to look at photos of celebs at the Oscars, Golden Globes, etc. All the well-dressed men wore black tuxedos regardless of their date's dress color (even if their dates wore brown, champagne, etc. gowns). This kept the couple from looking matchy matchy (think high school prom) & made them look like a classic couple. GL!

  • Here's a photo that I found, which helped me decide on black:

  • black tux, with brown vest and tie, then a pink boutinnere
  • I think brown takes away from the effect of wearing a tux - it's too casual of a color.  IMO the point of a tux is to look sharp, so I would hands down go with black, because it looks sharp and crisp.

Looking at past wedding photos, any wedding I've seen with a color other than black for tuxes (in some cases, I'm cool with the groom wearing white - we tossed that idea around but it depends on the groom), it looks a little silly to me.
