My lovely parents are worried that more people will show up to our wedding than can comfortably be seated in our venue. We currently have ~150 people on our list, 90% from out of town (most at least 6 hours). We are assuming that about 100 people will show up. The seated capacity of our venue is about 120. My parents think we should have i2 invite lists...one goes out to our 'must haves' about 4 months ahead of time and then based on those RSVP responses we have a second set that goes out 2-3 months out. I am cringing at this idea as I think it implies that some of our guests are more important than others. I told my mom if we do it this way I would like to have a family and non-family wave rather than A and B list. Has anyone done it this way? What would you suggest I do? I also don't like the idea because it makes save the dates pretty much impossible since we don't know who we will actually be inviting.
