I didn't say no one has ever done it before. I said you did it, to a ridiculous extent, and it was obnoxious.

If someone else comes to these forums, and gets called out on a stupid call out site that everyone agrees is moronic, and makes a response, and then another response, and then another response, and doesn't see the irony of her own response saying she doesn't actually care, that person, too, will be obnoxious.

  • FWIW, I really do believe that some people aren't allowed to mention their more expensive wedding around here.  If I'd been able, I would have had a $20,000 wedding, with just about the same number of people, so... figure that one out (60, btw).  The key is not to name drop, no matter what your financial situation is.

But, if it helps Aprove, I really have no opinion of you one way or the other because I've barely noticed you before the call outs started.  Also, your reaction to it has been slightly juvenile in that you'ver really risen to the occaision of giving them what they want-- more drama.  Sending in your rewrites just instigates more, wheras, if you made jokes about it here, or left it alone, well, you'd be singing a different tune right now.
  • I didn't say I had an issue with you, Aprove. I don't even know you that well. Mostly I just said that the way you were responding to the KPS callouts was annoying.

The other thing about name brands was only vaguely directed towards you, but not specifically because I haven't read most of your posts relating to your brand name stuff.

Oh Sasha, we will never get tired of hearing about your Manolos.

I don't own Manolos.  I don't even know where I would go to get a pair of those.  Except maybe Ebay.  Because you can find everything on Ebay.

But you know what I would pay hundreds of dollars for?  A stiletto heel that is as comfortable as an Ugg.  SRSLY.  Those things hurt my bunions, y'all.

  • I have to start buying designer shoes. They are the only ones who make my size.

You can certainly get Manolos on Ebay.....I find well made shoes to be extremely comfortable.  I'm more comfortable in heels in general but for me there are some that are great.

    Posted by aprovencher21[/QUOTE]

What does this even mean? Are you supposed to get a copy of your ring if you buy one at Cartier? Please explain.

And TJ, I think your "stock? trading Sesame Street securities?" response was a little harsh. I grew up in a wealthy area, and I remember talking crap about how one girl's dad was supposedly going to buy her a Lambourghini when she turned 16. Obviously she was talking about her family's money, and yes, kids can be just as snotty about that as they can about anything else.

Sasha, can we make a thread just to talk about your Manolos? Aprov, yours can come too. Because while name-dropping is bad, they're just so lovely.

It is somewhat common practice if your ering is worth a certain amount that a faux copy is made.  People will wear that on vacations or out to dinner and leave the real ring in a safe.  I think thats silly but it happens.

The other poster was pissed that the sales girls didn't have copies to send to her to try on (or to a closer Cartier retailer).  She yelled at the girls because of course all expensive rings have copies (not true).  I basically pointed out that when someone wants a faux copy they commission it being made and that she shouldn't have been so nasty to the sales girl.

I'm having a really bad week and day.  Normally that wouldn't have been my response and I did joke about it on SB.  I just find it odd people (who I rarely talk to) found it so obnoxious and have such an issue with me.

I also don't like the double standard.  I'd never flame someone for DIY stuff or a less expensive wedding or someone's ering.  So I'm not sure why the reverse isn't true.
