Night Thread?

No one has started a night thread? Or did I miss it?

What's everyone up to tonight?

I'm just here with FI and he just had his wisdom teeth out today so not much is on the agenda for dinner. He'll be eating mashed potatoes and stuff, I don't know what I'll eat because I'll feel bad eating in front of him.

Re: Night Thread?

  • Good evening. I had leftover enchiladas for dinner. Now I'm just relaxing on the couch excited I'm taking the day off tomorrow.

I remember getting my wisdom teeth out. I had the whole chipmunk look going on and I don't remember eating much of anything for awhile. I think I ate a lot of pudding and applesauce.

  • Good evening.  H is making chicken noodle for dinner.  It got really cold here today, so it's a good meal to warm up to.  I'm semi planning our Vegas trip.  I think those 4 days are going to make me fat because I keep writing down more places I need to eat.

I don't have my wisdom teeth and I've had 4 other teeth pulled because my mouth is so small.  Chrissy, you have so many more teeth than me!

  • Sounds like it will be a fun trip. I've never been to Vegas but I want to go.

  • Evening!

I don't have my wisdom teeth and got about 9 baby teeth pulled because my mouth was too crowded when I was having all my orthodontal work done. It sucked and then got almost routine. I remember being so scared of being put under for my wisdom teeth because I never had been before and was worried I wouldn't wake up.

  • Yum. Chicken Noodle sounds so good.
I had my teeth out when I was still in HS. All of mine had to be cut out. It was a pretty miserable experience.
Luckily, his teeth were all above the gum so they just pulled them out.
I read part of that BSC post. Man, the interwebz make people crazy.

  • Good evening!
My plans for the evening entail avoiding homework. Was told a year ago I should get my wisdom teeth pulled. I'm a chicken though and keep pushing back when I'll actually do that.

Evening all! We already ate, had turkey and green beans. Nothing too creative.

I had my wisdom teeth out a few years ago. It was not pleasant. Then, last year, a dentist in my area effed up a wisdom tooth removal and killed a high school girl, so I'm afraid of that now. FI hasn't had his out but I think he's just going to let them stay put, because the idea of him getting them out now makes me really nervous.
  • Mine were impacted and I had to be put to sleep for it. I just remember them telling me that you could lose all feeling in your face/mouth so when I woke up and was numb I freaked out. I started slapping my face since I couldn't feel anything and thought I had lost the feeling permanently. I couldn't talk to tell my dad what was wrong so he just looked at me like I was crazy, lol.

  • I was just talking to FI about getting my wisdom teeth out. How long will I want to be out of work when I get mine taken out?
  • I hope your FI has a speedy recovery, Crash!

I had to have an emergency extraction of a wisdom tooth due to infection 3 weeks before my wedding.  I couldn't eat solid foods for almost a week and ended up losing weight unexpectedly because of it.  I was so pissed because I had worked so hard at maintaining the perfect weight for my dress to avoid last minute alterations, then had to have them anyway.

<div>I was only out for 2 days, the day of the surgery and the day after.  But, I only had 1 extracted, not all 4, so that probably made a difference. </div>

Mine were impacted, and I was out for about 2 days after surgery.  The day of I had a reaction to the anesthesia/pain meds and was really sick to my stomach, but after that I stuck to Advil and was fine. I didn't really swell or bruise or get dry socket or anything though, and I know some people have much harder recoveries than I did.

  • Okay so if I get it done on a Friday, I should be good to go on Monday?
  • I know the day of was rough. I think the next day I was really sore as well. I couldn't drive with the meds they gave me so if you drive to work that might effect you. As long as I had the meds, it wasn't too bad. I just looked puffy.

I think it will depend on how many and just how you react to it. Some people don't swell or bruise at all and are fine. Others are not so lucky. I would plan on the day of and at least an extra day.

  • Yeah, Aleigh, Friday to Monday sounds good. I had all four out on a Monday and was back to mostly normal by Wednesday or Thursday.
  • Heyo! I still have my wisdom teeth. H needs his out something awful. That's the first thing that's happening when our new insurance kicks in. We're having whole wheat spaghetti w/ basil pesto sauce for dinner. Pretty good. Tonight will most likely be dedicated to Pinterest and watching our new Netflix movies.
  • Evening. I just finished a load of dishes and have another to do once this one is done. I have 3 wisdom teeth, the fourth one never formed. They are all impacted and causing me pain, I'm just too much of a chicken to actually go to the dentist and get them taken care of.

  • Yall don't make it sound too bad. If mine haven't broken through the gums yet, though, will that make it worse? I also want to teach FI how to make good smoothies before I get them pulled. He's a great cook but somehow fruit to juice ratios fly right over his head.
  • Evening. I got mine out in high school. They left a bone chip in and it was painful but once they pulled that out it wasn't too bad. I really should be packing but I'm tired. All I want to do is sleep.
  • I just found the BSC thread, hadn't noticed it before. It is excellent. And by excellent I mean it's really amusing and the poster is TRULY BSC.

[QUOTE]Ciara, I think she's just immature no matter her age. I was 21 at the time I got engaged and can't imagine wanting to plan the wedding with little to no input from FI.

This. I was 20 when we got engaged, 23 when we got married, and no way in hell would I have acted like that. Rick had input on everything.

  • Aryn, I'm with you. She could be 20, 30, whatever, but she has the mentality of a 16 year old.

Actually, that carnival theme would probably work for her Sweet 16, and then she could plan it all by herself.
  • Okay, here's to hoping this tae kwon do class works out and it's not awkward when I show up on the second day of class.
  • Nicki, the Santana thread was "MOB Attire Etiquette". It devolved into crazy pretty quickly, tho.
  • I was 20 when I got engaged, and I never acted like that about the wedding.  Age=/=maturity.

  • Carnival?  I might have to go read that thread now.
  • Skin suit is apparently going to be Spring 2012's new black.

  • Yup, she wants a carnival themed wedding. Which could be really fun and classy if put together well or could end up looking like a 4 year olds birthday party.
