Yeah, you can be a 'dumb biitch' and be really fecken smart too. There's different kinds of smart and I don't think it's 'fair' to pull in personality. But it's all hypothetical anyways. So ::shrug::

Amen. I mean... I'm pretty frecken smart (<img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />) and I have fairly frequent dumb biitch moments, so I agree with not thinking personallity can be taken into account here.

  • Gotcha, Anna (aka birthday girl!)

If I was stupid and couldn't play KenKen and Trivial Pursuit, I'd be really sad.
  • I agree Nuggs. Jay laughs at me LOTS because we go out and I literally get biitchface and side-eye from every other chick we come across. Literally. Most of the time I'll just be all "Whatever. Hoars." about it, but sometimes you're like "Really? You've not said ONE WORD to me and you hate me because...?"

(In a totally non-tooting-my-own-horn kind of way, I swear it. Honest.)
In Response to Re: Smart or Pretty? : I honestly think that a lot of smart people (and I have done this myself) see a really attractive person and automatically assume that they're A) not too bright, and/or B) a mean person.  There was a girl in high school who was really pretty, and the "smart kids" would talk so much trash about her.  Even though she'd never done anything to them or to anybody else to warrant it.  I think it just made them somehow feel more justified in themselves, if that makes any sense?   I get sh*t ALL the time because I have big bresticles.  I've seriously had random women come up to me at a nightclub and make nasty comments like "Oh you think you're the sh*t because of your tits don't you?" or do that thing that girls like to do, when they talk smack about someone to their friend in total hearing of the person they're smacking on.
    Posted by NuggetBrain
I guess this is what I was talking about anyway. If it came across that I think all attractive girls are stupid bitches I apologize because that isn't what I meant at all. But I think people make assumptions about people based on their attractiveness level or whether or not they have big boobs or any other kind of appearance thing, so I guess that is why I think being smart is a greater asset in this hypothetical situation.
  • Trivial Pursuit might be my favouritest game ever (next to Jeopardy, but don't even get me started on that). I played it with Jay last weekend for HOURS. It was great.

  • That definitely happens, Nuggs, and it's all insecurity. Those beetches are jealous 'cause you got a great rack.

This times 1000%. Especially since I don't have the quick wit as, say, my brother. I've been called ugly before; the only person I am want to think I'm beautiful is my husband. But, I want to be known as smart.

If I ever make it up to Canadia, I'm totally challenging you to a Jeopardy/Trivial Pursuit tournament. I love Trivial Pursuit lots, but Jeopardy makes my world go 'round.

Yes, this is also me.  I've always been very secure in my intelligence, but looks are a different matter.

I also think there are more objective standards to tell people they are intelligent than there are to tell people if they're attractive.  I've always had good standardized test scores, for example, to reinforce to me that I'm smart.  I've had positive responses to my looks I guess, but I've also been rejected before too, you know?
