How do I say "no?"

I just got a message from someone one facebook that I have not spoken to in years! We were barely friends in high school and the only reason we are friends on facebook is she added me so I just accepted. Well, I got an email from her just now that said "can I come to your wedding?" What?! We dont even talk! How do I say no? I'm not the kind of person that can just come out and say it, Im a coward like that...anyone got any good excuses I could use? Its not a small family only wedding, and she knows that if she has read my posts, so I cant use that excuse. Help! I really dont want her there but I dont want to hurt her feelings!

Yeah, I would just tell her that you can't invite her.  Or, not respond at all.

Agree with cac847... it's completely tacky of her to ask in the first place! No  matter how you say it, you won't come off looking as tacky as she does, asking for an invite.

I was thinking exactly what eav said- if you don't know her that well at all, I wouldn't even respond to that message.  It's beyond rude, and if you have zero chance of running into her around town, I'd ignore it.

Yes, now that I have actually gotten some sleep, I don't think you should respond to the request at all.
